It had been 1 year since Aurar and Ebony first met. Marriage between a Shadower and a Lightner was still illegal, so they decided to run off. There was a part of the woods that belonged to neither Lightner, nor Shadower. They found a small cabin in the lands, and from the looks of it, the owners had been gone for a while. Both of them fixed it up, made it more... livable. They made their own beds with the supplies they had brought, and finally, had a home..
They had been living in the cabin for about 5 months, when something happened that changed their life forever.
Ebony was pregnant.
Both of them thought it impossible, I mean, they were two different types! Ebony was a Shadower, Aurar a Lightner!
But yet, Ebony gave birth a couple of months later.
They were triplets.
"Heh... Look, Aurar, this one has your golden eyes... And this one looks just like you! Right down to the little noodle arms! Oh, and this one, they... they look just like a mix. Aurar... you know our children will never fit in anywhere, right?" Ebony asked after the children had been cleaned up.
"So? We won't fit in anywhere anyways, after we've had them. What do you want to call them?" Aurar asked.
"Rozia." she pointed to the only girl. "And finnick." she pointed to the boy with golden eyes. "And willow." she pointed to the mix.
Aurar smiled as he looked at his children.
"I love them."
Willow, Rozia, and Finnick grew, and Aurar and Ebony hid them from the world, until they turned 6.
Once the triplets turned 6, Aurar decided to take each of them out into the woods, one by one. The first one he took was Rozia, for she had been born first, only by about 3 minutes, but still, she was older.
They took the path, a stone path that went past both the Shadowers villages, and the Lightners.
"Dad?" Rozia asked, her goldish hair gleaming in the early morning light.
"Yes Rozia?"
"Who's that?"
"Who's who?"
Aurar looked over in the direction Rozia was pointing, and saw 6 large Lightner guards on horses running towards him and Rozia. All of them had large swords drawn, aiming for both of them.
Aurar looked at Rozia.
"Run." he whispered.
Rozia took off, running through the woods. She heard the leaves crumbling beneath her feet, she could see her mothers cabin ahead of her, she just had to run a bit faster, but all at once, she heard a scream. One she'd never heard before. A blood-curdling scream.
Her fathers scream.
At the notion that her father was dead, that they killed him, she stopped. Tears filled her black eyes and she dropped to her knees.
In that moment, a guard came behind her, and stuck his sword through her body until she died.
She laid on the ground, blood pooling from her lifeless body.
The lightner guard ran off, twigs snapping at the feet of their horses.
Their work was done.
"Finnick, do you know where your sister and father are? They've been taking a long time..." Ebony asked finnick, who was happily awaiting his turn to go out into the forest with his father.
"No." Finnick said, swinging his feet underneath the chair he was sitting on.
"Alright..." Ebony said, opening the door to the cabin.
"Finnick? I'll be back. I'm going to go look for Rozia and your Father."
She stepped outside, and started on the path. She looked up to the sky, hoping and praying that nothing bad had came to her family. It was almost nightfall, and the pink/grey sky was fading to blue. The stars had began to come out, and it was a beautiful sight.
She continued on the path, and saw Rozia laying down on the path, in a pool of blood.
Millions of thought swarmed in her head like a swarm of bees, and she ran to her daughter. She screamed in agony, and dropped to her knees. She put her arm around her and cried.
She sat there, crying on the path at the death of her daughter, when she realized.
Maybe aurar was still alive.
She got up, praying that there was a chance that he was alive, and ran down farther down on the path.
She saw him, lying there on the path, the twigs and leaves surrounding him in a forest blanket. Tears filled her eyes as she cried out in pain. Her heart felt like it had broken.
