Emily was having a lovely time down by the lake with Arthur. She couldn't catch a single fish but they had a good laugh whilst she tried. As they sat down on the rock, Emily learnt a lot about Arthur. She wasn't really sure how to respond to him. His life certainly didn't sound easy. It made her think how easy she had it back home.
Emily noticed that Arthur seemed to have gone quiet, his head held down. Emily reached her hand out and gently placed it on top of his. To lose a son, the woman you love and both your parents at a young age was hard. Heck, she lost her mother when she was 8 years old she knows what that's like but to be left on the street was something she didn't know. Arthur looked up at Emily and gave her a smile.
"So, I guess you want to know about me?" Emily asked her hand still placed on top of Arthur.
She noticed Arthur's face lit up and he nodded his head at her "Yeah you've had the low down on me"
Emily took her hand away from Arthur and looked out at the lake before telling her story.
"As you already know my name is Emily Drexal Lela Kaldwin. I'm from a city called Dunwall which is completely different scenery to what you have here. When I was 8 year old a man who once worked with my father assassinated my mother in front of my eyes. My father had been away; on his return this man took a knife straight through my mother's torso. It's an image that will never leave my mind pretty much like the one you have with your son. That same man also kidnapped me. They had me held at a brothel, i was unharmed but I was too young to understand what they were planning on doing. My father hunted high and low for me and killed anyone in his way to get me back. As you can tell I'm here and he got me back..." Emily paused briefly before continuing her story "...Really long story short my father has raised from 8 years old and taught me everything I needed to know." Again she paused as she began to think about her father, she was really starting to miss him. "My father is very protective of me. We had a huge row because I wanted to see more of the world but he wanted to keep me hidden away. He wanted me near him at all times so he knew i wasn't at any risk of being hurt or taken away just like my mother was taken away from him. I guess he's worried the man who killed my mother would come back and kill me too." Emily knew fine well what happened to the man who killed her mother but it was not something Arthur needed to know. Emily was also in love with a man called Wyman. They had been in a relationship for some time now but he wasn't happy with Emily's decision to travel, neither was her father.A few minutes of silence passed between the pair when Arthur piped up and asked her another question. "Why did you leave Dunwall?"
Emily looked at him with an eyebrow raised. "As i said my father is really protective and i used to sneak out at night just so i could see what was happening with the world. I just wanted to be out. I needed to get out. I needed to see the world."As the pair got to know each other a little better the sun began to set, the reflection of the sun on the top of the water. It made for a beautiful setting.
A faint rumble of horses could be heard in the distance, gradually getting closer and closer to the pair. Before they knew it the horses were behind them. They both got off the rock and turned around to find 3 men dressed in suits. Emily noticed they were looking at Arthur, they weren't interested in her they were only interested in him. But why she wondered.
