Aftermath part 2

January 4th 6:00 p.m.

I was standing outside of my mothers home, I didn't wanna go in especially because she told me once I got better she wouldn't take me back I was 26 years old, no money, no other family and I just needed somewhere to rest. I started walking away from my mothers home and heard a familiar voice from across the street.

"Dream?" I muttered to myself

I watched as he kissed some woman goodbye who was holding my baby, my beautiful baby girl she had gotten so big. I watched as he got into his car then pulled of in the opposite direction. I jogged across the street and rang the doorbell waiting until the door was opened

The door opened and I sighed heavily

"Hi?" The woman said in a strong African accent.

"Um does Andre live here?" I asked and she raised a brow

"That's my husband who are you?" She asked

"I- I- I'm Kamiyah's mother." I said looking at her face clearly

"I thought you were d-, come in." She smiled opening the door fully and I stepped into the clean home

I followed her into the living room and sat on the couch

"Would you like something to drink? Eat?"She asked rubbing her growing belly

"Yes please if you don't mind" I smiled fidgeting with my fingers.

"I'll be right back."

I watched as she walked into the kitchen I spotted Kamiyah sitting in what looked like a den playing with toys and watching cartoons, she looked just like me. The woman came back out the kitchen handing me a bottle of apple juice and a ham and cheese sandwich

"Thank you." I smiled taking a bite out of the sandwich

"Oh I'm Gabriella." The woman smiled and I used the napkin to wipe my mouth

"I'm Kandice, Kandice Marshall. Look I don't want you to think I'm here to take Miyah away because that's not the case. I want you and Dream to have full custody I just wanna be apart of her life. I just got out of rehab and I'm looking for a job and some place to stay." I said and she nodded her head as I heard the front door open

"I got the f- Kandice? What are you doing here?" Dream asked sitting the food on a nearby table and walking fully into the living room looking directly at my face

"I just wanted to see her Andre." I said and Gabriella got up from her seat grabbing the plate and taking it into the kitchen

"Alright, come on" He said making his way towards the den and I followed behind him

He picked her up and I smiled as she smiled back at me.

"Miyah this is Kandice can you say hi?" Dream asked her

"Hi." Miyah said in a soft voice

"Hi." I smiled holding back the tears as I stuck out my hand and she shook it

Beautiful and smart they were raising her well

"Miyah I know you cant understand fully but, This is your mommy." Dream said and Miyah reached out for me

I grabbed her and she buried her face in my neck as I cried hugging her tightly

"I've missed you so much my bell." I cried as her grip around my neck got stronger

"Kandice you're more then welcome to stay here if you'd like, and also I manage a shop I can get you started first thing in the morning?"Gabby smiled looking at me and I smiled
