Mark sighed as he looked through another magazine for wedding planning. He couldn't decide what to pick. There were so many things to think about and consider when planning your own wedding. There were colors, themes, all sorts of things to think about when you're planning it. Mark let out another sigh as he finished flipping through the current magazine he was looking through. He couldn't find the right colors he wanted for the tableware. He set it down and reached across the counter; picking up yet another wedding magazine. Maybe a sort of red color, or orange, he thought to himself. He didn't know.
Jackson was in the kitchen putting the finishing touches on dinner. He was excited for the wedding that felt like days away when it was really months away. It felt strange to see himself settling down with someone, but it was about time. Jackson was more surprised that he found someone to take a rowdy bachelor and turn him into someone wanting a family and true love. Jackson could never see himself having that type of life until he met Mark. He was something special; Jackson was expecting it to be some type of quick fling and that's all, but he began to desire the other and that was a feeling that scared him a bit.
A guy almost know for sleeping around was finally desiring someone far more than just their body. It was almost unheard of. Once dinner was finally finished, the male walked into the dining room to find his fiance looking over more wedding magazines. The sight made him smile. Jackson walked over to the other and sat next to him, putting a few magazines to the side. "Mark, you're going to run yourself mad if you keep looking at those magazines everyday without a break." He said in a light teasing voice.
He placed a soft kiss on Mark's cheek and peeled the page he was looking at. "Dinner is ready whenever you are and I like that color. It has a very.... Paris in the winter type of feel to it. What do you think?" Mark nodded in agreement. "It looks really nice, I like it." Jackson's face erupted with happiness. "Great, then that's the one-"
"But," Mark interrupted, picking up another magazine. He flipped through it and showed the order male another color. "The champagne one looks really great too." Jackson smiled and took the magazine. "I'm sure whatever you decide to choose will suit you the best, now time to eat."
"Do you think my parents will come to the wedding?" Mark asked before eating a spoonful of mashed potatoes. Jackson raised an eyebrow at the sudden question; surprise crossing his face. "Why would you ask that?" He asked, setting his spoon down. The younger male shrugged his shoulders as he began to push the food around in his plate. "Well it's just....I haven't told them about...you know and the fact that they found out by an invitation..."
Jackson nodded, understanding what his lover was trying to say. He saw the nervousness and unease in his eyes. "Mark, your parents love you no matter what. You know that and I know that right?" Mark shrugged. Yeah he knew his parents loved him, but he wasn't so sure once they saw the wedding invitation. He got along with his parents well enough, and they've supported him in everything. Mark just wasn't sure if they'd support him when it came to marrying someone that was a) older than him by a few years and b) another male.
Mark's parents never mentioned anything related to the LGBT community, nor have they reacted to it when it comes on the television which confused the young male even more. Mark had no idea what to think. All the while; Jackson was observing him, frowning slightly. "Mark, babe, relax okay? I can see the wheels turning in your head." He leaned back in his chair, his movements graceful. "I know your parents, and I know how supportive they are. Don't worry they'll love you and accept you no matter your decision."
The doe eyed male pulled himself out of his thoughts and turned his gaze on the older male who still sat in his chair; arms crossed over his chest. Something in his eyes seemed to calm Mark's racing heart. With a small; almost shy smile he nodded. "Okay....thank you Jackson." Jackson returned the smile. "Don't thank me Mark, it's what I'm here for. To help and support you." Yes, he was there for support, help, protection, and love. If he was being honest, Mark was more than content. Jackson sat forward in his seat. "And tomorrow we're going to go see your parents. I think it's time you explained."
