Giving In

Chapter One

Raven was pouring herself her usual cup of herbal tea. The heated liquid poured into the cup, and she took it, along with a book she was working on, and went to her room. Beast Boy bumped into her.

"Sorry, Rae." The changeling said, smiling awkwardly. He looked at the violet haired girl in front of him, and tried to fight the blush spreading to his cheeks.

"It's fine." Raven replied. She walked into her room, and sat on her bed, opening her book. Beast Boy looked at her closed dark door, and leaned on it, his forehead pressed against it. He sighed.

"When will I ever work up the courage to tell her how I feel?" Beast Boy muttered to himself. He got up, hands in his pockets and walked away. Raven laid down on her bed.

"When will I ever work up the courage to tell him how I feel?" She said aloud. "Oh, who am I kidding? He'll never like me, he'll always try to find a way to get Terra again.." The empath thought of his former love interest, tears spreading to her eyes. Her violet eyes studied the dark blue ceiling. She suddenly heard a knock at her door.

"Hey Raven, can I talk to you?"

Her heart jumped. "Um, yeah sure, one sec." Raven nearly leaped to the door. She composed herself, and fixed her hair. She opened the door. "What's up?" Beast Boy couldn't dare look her in the eyes without his knees buckling.

"I just wanted to, uh, know if you wanted to get some pizza with me." He smiled, trying not to make his feelings obvious. Raven smiled slightly. "Sure, I'd love that." That was not the answer he was expecting to hear. "Okay, cool."
