Chapter Two

This is it, I thought while I was sitting at the graduation ceremony. The principal was saying the students last name and they were receiving their diploma. It was going by quickly and the principal was in the last names that started with a K, my heart started to beat faster and faster, and then I heard the principal say "Zooey Morgan" I could barely breathe, but I stood up from the chair and while I was walking into the stage I looked over to the people hoping to see my mom's face when I got my diploma, but when I looked I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was my sister Cleo.What was she doing here? Why did she come back? I was too busy thinking about these questions and then I suddenly realized that I had my high school diploma in my hand and everybody was clapping, for a minute I forgot about my sister and I stared at the diploma with my name on it "Congratulations Zooey Morgan for being with us the past four years. We hope for the best for your future, every single one of you make Le Cordin High School complete. We will miss you!" Then I realized that I had been on stage for two whole minutes and everybody was staring at me because I was still standing there, and I quickly went back to my seat and I stared at it again.

I couldn't believe it, this diploma represented the last four years of my life, it was time to start a new phase in my life which hopefully was going to be much better. After a while, every single student had gone on that stage and had their diploma. Everyone stood up and they started to play a ceremony song, you know the song that they play in movies when someone is graduating. The principle said "Three, two, one" and everyone threw their graduation hat into the air, but I didn't throw mine because I wanted to keep it, after all the hats came into the ground all the students began to hug each other. Bethany one of my fake friends came up to me and hugged me, scine it was probably the last time I was ever going to see her I let her hug me, then she said

"Can you believe it? We are not high schoolers anymore, now we are ladies."

"Yes I can believe it because I have been waiting desperately to get here"

"Yeah, you have never enjoyed highschool like you should of. Now it's over whether you want it or not, and you can't do anything to take it back. You just wasted four years of your life. But that's all you wanted, right?"

And after that she just walked away. I think she's right, maybe I should of enjoyed those years but like she said, I can't take them back. I just want to go home. So I know what to do to find my family, just follow the group of yelling girls. When I finally found my family (which wasn't so hard) Cleo stepped away from the group of girls and she hugged me. I don't even remember the last time she hugged me. Then she said

"I'm so happy for you Zooey! She said with a big smile on her face. Maybe i should give her a second chance. Maybe she wasn't trying to make me feel bad because she is very successful and I don't have a single talent.
