catie stood behind the closed church doors. she smoothed out her dress and sighed. she shifted the object around that was held in her bra and she grabbed her flowers from the table. she was alone behind the closed doors. no one was walking her down the aisle. her father and mother bailed on her as soon as they found out. they said that they didn't want anymore fucked up kids. catie understood, she just wish that they would've told her before everything unfolded.
the doors opened and the wedding march began to play. catie sighed and looked ahead. she locked eyes with theo, whom was standing in his black tux and the biggest smile on his perfect face. she didn't smile back. she held back the throw up that was coming up. she took her first step and then she took another. it was like teaching a baby how to walk. catie tried to put on her best 'i'm ok' face. she looked around the crowd.
she saw the nice and persistant nurse sitting with a man that catie had assumed was her husband. she continued to look around. she saw all the other kids she'd met in the hospital and some of theo's friends. she saw some of her friends too. she looked back ahead and before she knew it, she was standing before theo at the alter, with the veil in her face. theo pulled back the veil and he held her hands. he rubbed her knuckles with his thumb slowly and softly.
"dearly beloved," the pastor said. "we are gathered here today because of the love that these two people have for one another." he held the bible open in his hands. "is there anyone that would like to object?"
silence filled the church and catie and theo just stood there staring at each other. theo's face was light and full of love while catie's was full of guilt. she knew that what she was about to do was wrong and demented. but she thought that she had to get her point across.
"theodore michael palmer, do you take catrina louise parker to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
theo looked lovingly at his wife to be. "i do." he said.
the pastor turned to catie. "catrina louise-" he was interuppted by the object catie pulled out of the top of her wedding dress. she felt herself began to cry. theo's eyes were full of alarm.
"catie, please no." he whispered. "don't do it."
catie shook her head as people began to get up from there seats. everyone yelled 'don't do it' and 'you're worth it' to her. she just shook her head again. she put the gun to her head and she sighed. "i love you, theo."
"catie no!" he shouted as he stretched his arm out to retrive the gun that would kill his lover.
she pulled the trigger before he could get ahold of her and it. she fell to the ground, eyes rolled to the back of her head. theo's heart began to race and he couldn't hear anything, although the church was full of screaming and crying. he whispered 'no' to himself multiple times before he realized what he witnessed was actually real. he looked down at his dead bride and saw the blood pooling from her blonde head, caking her hair a crusty red.
"i love you too." he whispered.
he picked up the gun and he put the gun in his mouth.
he pulled the trigger.
and he was enveloped in darkness.
