The next morning, I wake up to my alarm buzzing. Ugh, school. But thank god that it is Friday. I grogilly reach my hand out from under my covers, reaching out to hit the snooze button. Just five more minutes. Five minutes later, I force myself to climb out of bed. I wash up, then get dressed into a new cropped top and high-waisted shorts. After going over my hair with a flat-iron, I go downstairs.

I eat my cereal quickly, as my mom comes downstars, dressed for work. "There's my track superstar" she says, smiling. I smile back weakly, grabbing my backpack. After saying goodbye, I head outside to my car.

I drive to school, which is only a few blocks away from my house. After parking in the lot, I walk inside to my locker. I go to my locker, getting some books for class. When I close my locker, I am startled to find Dylan standing right next to me. My heart immeadiately starts beating faster. Why is he at my locker?

He smiles. "Hey" he says, leaning against the locker next to mine.

"Hi" I say, slinging my bag over my shoulder. He looks so attractive right now.

After a pause, he asks me, "So, are you um, doing anything tonight?"

Oh my gosh, is he actually going to ask me to do something tonight? I can feel my heart racing in my chest excitedly.

"Nope, I'm free" I reply, smiling.

He looks slightly relieved, and grins.

"So, I'm in this band, and we have our first gig tonight. If you want, you could come watch our performance, and then you could come to our afterparty?" he asks, sticking his hands into his pockets.

He is in a band? That is hot.

"Sure, I would love to" I reply, smiling.

He smiles back. "Great, so I will pick you up around 7? The show is at 8. Where do you live?"

"40 Rockwell Drive. And sounds great, thanks!" I say. I can barely even control my excitement anymore.

"Cool. And what's your number, so I can text you?" he asks, taking out his phone from his pocket.

I give him my number. "So, I'll see you later" he says, then walks away right as the bell rings. I cannot wipe the huge smile off of my face as I walk to class. Dylan Foster basically just asked me out. I am actually excited to see his performance, then go to the afterparty.

The whole day goes by quick, and I go home after school. When I walk into the kitchen, my mom is home early from work. She smiles at me as she sits at the counter, sipping her coffee.

"So, any plans tonight?" she asks me.

I bite my lips, before telling her everything. When I am done telling her, she raises her eyebrows.

"Who is this Dylan kid? Why have I never heard of him before?" she asks me.

"He's in my grade. And he's really nice, I promise" I say, smiling.

She nods. "Okay, have fun"

I run upstairs, smiling excitedly as I enter my room, closing the door behind me. What should I wear? I open my closet, looking for something to wear that would be appropriate for a band performance. After almost on hour of searching, I decide to wear tight black skinny jeans and a crop top. I get changed, then re-flat iron my hair. Then, I go to the bathroom, applying more makeup.

When I am ready, it is almost 7:00. I wait in my bedroom, when my phone buzzes with a text message.

It reads, On my way, from Dylan

I can't even control my excitement as I run downstairs. A few minutes later, a sleek black car pulls up in front of the house. Dylan begins walking up towards the house. I open up the door, smiling.

"Hey!" I exclaim. He waves and smiles, looking at me.

After saying a quick goodbye to my mom, I go outside, closing the front door behind me. Dylan opens the passenger seat door of his car, and I climb inside. Then, Dylan gets into the driver's seat, starting up the car.

Once we begin driving, I ask him all about his band. His band name is Ablaze, and they are a rock group. He plays with a few other kids from other school nearby, and he is the electric guitarist. The concert tonight is at a small club in town.

Once we arrive, we both get out of the car.

"Hey, so I have to go backstage to get ready, so you can wait in the club if you'd like. We'll be on in about 10 minutes, so it won't be for that long" he says to me, smiling.

"Sure, no problem. Break a leg" I say to him.

He smiles. "Thanks. And thanks again for coming to watch" he says, smiling. He looks so hot when he smiles, and part of me wants to just kiss him.

"Your welcome" I say.

"Alright, so I will catch you afterwards for the afterparty" he says.

I nod, smiling. I wonder what the afterparty is going to be like. Just then, another one of Dylan's bandmates yells for him to come backstage. Dylans smiles one last time, before jogging off to go backstage.

I walk towards the entrance of the club. I can already hear the chatter of people inside. I take a deep breath, before walking inside.
