"Hey baby, I'm talking to you" he continued. My face turned red as I desperately tried to get away from him.
"Watch it Ron, that's the president" another boy said. I knew him as Tanner. He was also heavily covered in jewelry, but he knew how to make a nice pot in ceramics.
"I don't care. No one ignores me" He said. I felt him grab my bag and yank it off my arm. I tried to grab it back, only to find myself gripping air. He tossed it onto the ground and grabbed my waist, to pull me towards him.
"Now why don't you do yourself a favor, and give daddy some sugar" I hit his hand in an attempt to push him away from me, a failed attempt, I might add. "Just, give me my bag" I said nervously, he chuckled.
"I said, give daddy-" And then he was interrupted by his friend. "Leave her alone, Ron" he said as he stood there with my bag.
He was tall, much taller than me, and he was also covered in tattoos. He twirled his lip ring between his teeth. His brown hair pushed out of view with a simple flick of the head, so you could see his bright blue eyes.
He came towards us, and "Ron" held me tighter. "Back of Kinch. She's mine" I scoffed slightly and tried to move away. But he wasn't letting that happen.
"I said, leave her alone" He came towards Ron, his teeth gritting together. "And I told you to fuck off, Kinch!" He gripped my forearm and pulled me towards him as he got closer.
"Kinch" slowly bent Ron's fingers off of my arm, and back against his hand. Ron screamed in pain, trying to push him away, only to have his fingers bent farther back. He handed me my bag and gave me a raised eyebrow.
"Get out of here" He said. I bit my lip slightly and gave him a small curtsy before running off to class, before I was late.
Did I just curtsy? What in the world is wrong with me?
I hurried into my chemistry class where my friend Hazel was waiting for me. She tired her long auburn locks into a bun and looked at me with worry in her eyes. "Melody, are you alright, dear?"
I let out a shaky breath I hadn't realized I was holding in. I bit my lip slightly as the bell rang.
"Alright class" the gorgeous Mr.Folly announced. "Today, I'm switching your lab partners" the entire class groaned, which earned a fabulous smile from Mr.Folly.
He found pleasure in disrupting his students lives.
As he read off names and people moved to their new seats, I was left alone at the back of the room. I found myself studying the notes for my violin piece. Until I heard Mr. Folly speak again.
I raised my head to see him standing with the principal, and the boy who saved me from Ron.
"Mr. Kinch was found fighting with another young man. He will be on probation and detention until further notice. I just wanted to make certain he was not marked tardy" Mr.Folly smiled and nodded slightly.
"Jesse, why don't you go and sit by Ms. McKenny. Melody, raise your hand!" I did as told and shot my hand up into the air. He gripped his backpack strap and made his way over to my desk. He sat down next to me and I kept looking down at my notes.
"What. No thank you? No hello? No what's your name?" He said with a cockiness in his voice. "Here I thought the student council president was a people person"
I rolled my eyes and shut my music book. "Hello, Jesse Kinch. Thank you for saving me from a pointless confrontation with your psychotic friend and nearly getting yourself expelled in the process"
He smiled and ran his fingers through his hair. "That's all I ask" I roll my eyes once again and listen to Mr. Folly's lesson on the fusion Hydrogen Peroxide and Potassium Iodine.
We began the experiment and I tried to sit as far away from him as possible. People like him are what's wrong with America.
"He's not my friend" I lifted my head to see him staring at me. "Ron. He's not my friend" He measured the potassium into the graduated cylinder. I rolled my eyes and tucked my hair back behind my ear.
