a casual day in the eisenwald guild, fortune teller sitting quietly at the front table constantly motioning any and everyone to get their fortune told by his defective cards. rayule and erigor ranting about how legal guilds are stupendous, snarl and chicken in the back corner conspiring.then there was lucy. she was nosy, but not on purpose for she just couldn't bring herself to listen to others speak nonsense.
she always has her ears open for anyone to say the wrong thing; say something she doesn't believe is true, doesn't believe is right, etc.
she can be the loudest there is, most definitely. but that still doesn't exterminate the fact that she does enjoy her peace and quiet sometimes.
today was a different day, though. today, the clouds were no where to be seen in the town of oshibana. the sun seemed as far away as it could ever be, yet it was indeed a little after noon.
oshibana was a friendly town for the most part, when the eisenwald guild didn't ruin it for them. whenever any of the guild members came scavenging around town, the people of the town would scurry into hiding.
the eisenwald guild today, a few members were currently on missions. although, erigor remained as-well as lucy, karacka and chicken.
it was unusually silent.
the blonde haired young woman that goes by the name lucy, was slumped over at the bar rereading a scrambled mission flyer.
"aye, lucy! what the hell are you doing, man? why's it so quiet?"
lucy jolted upward and spun the stool around to face the voice. of course it was erigor.
"oh, shut up," she swatted him away as she turned back around to face the flyer. rolling her eyes, she spoke again, "this seems real strange."
erigor trotted over to where she sat and stared at the paper in front of them. "what is it?" he asked.
"don't say anything, alright?" she scooted the paper over to better his view. "this stays between us."
erigor nodded and sat down in the stool beside her as he narrowed his eyes down at the paper. "the hell is this.."
"i'm not sure but something is definitely..." she thought for a moment before speaking again, "off."
"no duh, lucy." he rolled his eyes as he snatched the paper up and tossed it to the side.
"chicken, get everyone back here. we're gonna throw a party." erigor's lips formed a smirk as he stood up from his seat, and shortly after walked in another direction.
—
lucy inhaled deeply, her brows furrowing in the process. "why the hell did you throw this party anyway, erigor?..." her voice trailed off as she spoke lowly, not intending for anyone to hear her.
it was pouring outside by this time and all of the guild members were back inside thanks to chicken's telepathy.
lucy lunged forward, intentionally falling behind the bar. she picked up the paper once more and stuffed it inside her pocket.
kageyama, who was just about the same age as lucy only slightly older, tapped erigor's shoulder. "where's blondie?"
lucy, hearing this, crawled out from behind the bar as stealthily as possible and plopped into one of the stools.
"that's not my name! i told you to stop calling me that!"
she grabbed the fullest drink she could find by the bar and took a swig.
kageyama grinned lightly as he made his way toward her. he'd always had an innocent little crush on lucy, and the whole guild knew that but the two in hand.
if you only saw the way kageyama looked at her, still it never seemed as lucy could look at him the same.
"you, quiet?" kageyama chuckled. "i don't believe it."
"then let's get loud!" she cheered to no one in particular, which caused about a fifth of her drink to fly out.
from then on, the eisenwald guild was obnoxiously loud. to the wine glasses constantly being cheered, some even falling and shattering to pieces. to the booming and hearty laughs, from the fussing and the bickering to the blaring speakers.
eisenwald was small, indeed it was, damaged as well, but they were a family, above all that. they truly did, deep down care for one another.
her long blond hair, pulled into a ponytail by a ribbon, swayed in the cool breeze. it was about 6am now, and lucy was heading to the train station.
was she really going to do this? could she even go through with it? all she knew was that this mission seemed like it had to be done.
"watch it," lucy scowled as a little old man had accidentally tapped her with his cane.
she neared the oshibana station just in time. the train had just arrived. she quickened her pace a bit and soon enough, hopped on to the train.
her eyes narrowed as she trudged through the slender aisle, awaiting to spot an empty seat.
at the very end of the train, she finally found one, immediately settling herself in as she placed her bag beside her.
lucy tugged out the folded paper that was now in her bag. she began to read it once more.
" lucy heartfilia ,
we have a task that you and only you can fulfill. keep this to yourself, this is very important. it will end horribly if you do not.
lucy, we understand this may seem more than enough to ask but i'm assuming you know of the guild fairytail. there's been some issues and we'd like you to informally join the guild. you will act as if you really want to join, and that you've always wanted to. i understand you take assassination requests, but we would like to see how this will turn out. somebody here may be a suspect and deserve to be assassinated. of course there will indeed be a reward, a rather large one might i add. we will know if you complete the quest, and you will be notified as well when the mission is over. if you fail to complete the quest, actions will be taken.-unknown.
grand prize reward. "she cringed as she once again, skimmed through the same words that she had just read. her demeanor changed while she began to tap her foot impatiently.
fairytail is a legal guild. that's one thing eisenwald can't tolerate! why was she even doing this?
"the hell am i thinking!" her eyes almost popped out of her eye sockets as she came to full realization.
this is a setup.
