Chapter Five

Aleks kissed me.

I was really shocked, but I shouldn’t make a big deal about it, it was a simple kiss on the forehead.                       

However, I couldn’t get up at all.  I ended up making the whole ‘Aleks kissed me’ a big deal.

I don’t want to make anything awkward between Aleks and me, despite the fact that we never even had anything in the first place.

I heard Aleks’ footsteps drift off and enter another room, signaling that I could finally get up.

I opened my eyes to see and sleeping Eddie still on the lounging chair and a complete mess that holds a semimetal value in my heart. But still, it was a mess that needed to be cleaned up.

I started to clean up the room, taking out the garbage that was left on the floor and stale junk food from the night before. It was a bit tedious, but I still got the job done.

Eddie was still asleep, and I really didn’t want to bother him, so I ended up making breakfast out of boredom and plus I was really hungry. Coincidentally, Aleks came out of wherever he was decent and avoided eye contact with me.

“Morning Melina…” He said as he made coffee. He then looked at my general direction, and his eyes laced confusion. “What are you doing?” He quizzed.

I didn’t bother looking at him and continued my task. “I’m making breakfast. You could choose to eat my cooking or starve and make your own breakfast.” I said bluntly.

“Okay… Do you need any help?” he asked.

 I was quite taken aback, I didn’t expect Aleks to offer to help. “Yeah I actually need help. Can you create pancake mix?”

“Sure, I’ll start on that now.”

Aleks started to gather his materials and did what I asked him to do. Maybe we can bond like this.

While he was busy doing that, I started making eggs. I cracked eggs into a bowl and put my own spices in such as lemon pepper and milk. I almost forgot about salt.

The salt was in front of Aleks, so I went into Aleks’ station and stood really close to him to get the salt. It almost felt like we were hugging.

“Sorry…” I mumbled, hoping I didn’t bother him. But when I looked at him, his pale face was slightly pink.

“Um, it’s okay. It’s my fault that I didn’t move…” Aleks mumbled awkwardly and returned to his task.

From there, it was the atmosphere was trapped in really awkward silence.

Despite the quiet and awkward atmosphere, we finished making breakfast and on time, Eddie woke up to enjoy breakfast with us.

Thanks to Eddie, his presence eased the awkward atmosphere and made it calm enough to talk to each other.

While we ate breakfast, Eddie informed Aleks and I about something he wanted to do all together, but left out a lot of details, leaving us to wonder.

Eddie washed the dishes, while Aleks and I got ready for this mysterious event.

After finishing up, we all crammed into Eddie’s car.

Aleks sat in the passenger seat while I sat in the back of the car and Eddie in the driver seat.

As Eddie drove, we talked about trivial things that made us all giggle.

The car drive wasn’t that bad, probably thirty minute drive to get here.

We exit the car and saw that we were at an amusement park.

My eyes widened since I was so excited. I was like a child who just got a new toy to play with, Aleks and Eddie picked up on it and they both smiled at my child-like behavior.

“C’mon guys! You can’t just stay there and watch! We have to go on all the rides before night time comes!” I yelled happily

Aleks scoffed, but followed behind me walking and Eddie caught up to my pace.

(A/N: I got really lazy, and I didn’t want to write out about every ride the three of them rode, so I’m going to sum it up if that’s okay.)

Aleks and Eddie treated me the whole day. And it kind of pissed me off, but made me a bit happy. Aleks and Eddie bought me food and got me two stuff toy animals, to be exact, a panda and a dolphin.

But there was one ride that we haven’t ridden. It was the Ferris wheel. By the time we got there, the sun was setting and the amusement park was going to close in forty-five minutes.

I was in line with Eddie and Aleks, waiting for our turn, but the two of them started to slow down and talk to each other like they were trying to keep something a secret.

Finally it was our turn, and behind me was only Eddie smiling a bit.

“Where’s Aleks?” I asked.

“He doesn’t do well with heights… He said he would wait for us down here.” Eddie said.

“Oh. Okay…” I said, disappointment apparent in my voice.

The man who controlled the ride was getting a bit impatient and told us to get on, and we did.

From there, we talked for a bit, but mostly adored the beautiful sunset. I looked down and saw Aleks.

He was looking up at the Ferris wheel with a sad smile and waited patiently for us to come down.

But without Aleks with us, it felt a bit weird…

The ride ended a bit later and I found Aleks. I ran up to him and tackled him to the floor. Aleks squeaked like a little girl since I scared him. Eddie and I started to crack up since his reaction was so cute and funny.

“What the fuck Melina?! What was that for?!” Aleks screamed.

“I had no reason to scare you. I just wanted to.” I giggled.

Aleks pouted and stomped off to the car, leaving Eddie and I.

I quickly ran to go catch up with Aleks and gave him a kiss on his pout. “I’m sorry Ally.” I said with a little girl voice.

Aleks stopped and his face became a deep shade of red. “You’re an asshole Melina.” He grumbled.

I turned around to see Eddie glaring at Aleks and saw that I was staring. He flashed me a smile and searched for his car keys in his pockets.

I wondered why everyone was acting so weird. First Aleks starts to act weird and now Eddie? What is happening?
