So, from the last part, we now have a story idea that is a cliché that can easily be turned into a original story.

But what kind of fanfiction is it?

There are quite a few genres of fanfiction that this idea can be catagorized in. In this part, I'll be explaining the genres of fanfiction that are commonly found on Wattpad, and how your story idea can be catagorized into the right genre. Let's get start.

Romance Fanfiction

The genre is exactly what it says it is. Most fanfiction that is written these days are romance fanfiction. And alone, romance fanfiction have all these small subcategorizes that I shall also be going over with you guys. Our story idea would automatically fit into this category. Think of our idea as a claim in a lab report or persuasive essay. The key word in our idea is love. If All Might's daughter falls in love with Deku, we can tell there is a romance in the plot, and that it's mostly the main focus of the story. So we automatically have catagorized our seed as a Romance Fanfiction.

Regular Fanfiction

Where a romance isn't the main focus. Regular fanfictions put already made characters, maybe a small insert character or reader, and they go through a scenario that never happened in the original content. Since romance is the main focus in our idea, our seed wouldn't fit into this category.

With these two main genres, we can divide into different subtopics.

Crossovers

Crossovers are two different fandoms crossing over. Since our story is staying in the BNHA universe and has no major references to different fandoms, our idea wouldn't be in this category.

Character x Character

Character x Characters are two characters put together in a relationship, whether it be something that actually happens in the original content or something the author thought up of and it doesn't actually happen. Our idea wouldn't be in this category unless a character exsisted in the BNHA universe that actually was All Might's daughter. Since All Might doesn't have a daughter in the orginal content and isn't an actual character made by the original creator, it's safe to say that our idea doesn't fit in this category.

OC

OC stands for Original Character. An OC would be something that you made. Basically, you add your OC into the universe and base the story around them, whenther they interact with the characters in the original content, or they are put in the same universe without the mention of other characters. We could create an OC that could be All Might's daughter, so our idea could possibly fit into this category. The OC could just tag along the story, putting it into the Regular Fanfiction category, or be paired up with an already exsisting character.

 Reader Insert

This type of fanfiction puts in a reader insert. Basically the reader can use their own OC or themselves and pretend to be in that universe. Our category can also possibly fit into this category if we leave it up to the reader to create their own OC or put themselves in the story as All Might's daughter. Again, the reader could just tag along, or be paired up with an already exsisting character.

AU's

AU stand for Ulternate Universe, where you put the characters into a world unlike their own. You may add OC's and or reader inserts into these stories. This category is where you can get most creative with, from creating new lands, creatures, history, basically a way to build a story of your own but without original characters. BNHA has an amazing Fantasy AU, which I sadly don't see much of here on Wattpad. Our story could very well be placed in this category if we decided to create a new world with All Might also having a daughter.

One Shots

Basically the shorts stories of fanfiction. Mostly under the category of romance. Our story idea could be a Oneshot, as well as a pretty long story of its own.

So, there are many different Fanfiction genres that I could explain, but I will only put in the bare necessities. These genres are the most often written, so I decided to only write about those.

So, our idea can be placed in a good amount of these categories. I say we either categorize our idea into either an OC x Character, or a Character x Reader, under the Romance Genre. If you have  your own idea to catagorize, use this as a resource to see which one yours would fit under.

I may also explain more genres later on in this book, like Lemons or Smut Fanfictions, which both are for more mature readers. If you want your story to have more reads, make sure it's enjoyable and appropriate for all ages.

Next part, I shall be going over character development and making sure characters that already exsist stay IC. Stay tuned!
