Walking down the hall, i see new faces staring at me. Literally examining me. Either Rudy has been telling people about me or a rumor has been spread about me. I don't usually get into drama, but when i do I either beat the shit outta someone or threaten and curse them out. I don't play.
I finally approached my locker and put the combination in to unlock it. It clicked and i swung the door open. A letter fell from the top of my binder onto the floor. I picked up the folded piece of paper and read it out of curiosity.
Hey Rosalina, meet me at the cherry blossom tree after school, at 2:50. I would like to speak to you more. R
R? I was dumbfounded but quickly realized it was Rudy who wrote this. He wants to continue talking to me. My crush wants to interact with me more. Oh my—
"Rosie!" My name was shouted from someone's mouth. i turned around quickly to see who it was.
"Yes? um... Aaron?" I answered in confusion. this dude has never spoken to me since fourth grade, when everyone was friends.
"Hi. i've heard a lot about you. Don't worry it's not bad. Err, i'm Rudy's teammate on the soccer team."
"i know. i know everything about you guys and the soccer team of Springside." That last part sounded a little creepy.
"That's great. i'll see you around, Rosie." he patted my back and stepped away. it's Rose....
i dismissed that thought and pulled out my phone to check the time.
2:43 the phone read. Oh yeah, i 'have' to meet up with my crush by the cherry blossom tree after school.
A smile was plastered on my face while i hurriedly got my belongings from my locker and rushed down the stairs.
Woah rose, slow down you don't want to look desperate or easy to get.
I walked at a normal pace and tried to look cool. I pushed the metal doors open to reveal the outside. Today is a beautiful day, no clouds in the sky, the sun is shining bright, and my skin is glowing on my camera oh yes.
I looked at every blossom tree and i couldn't see that familiar cute dorky face. Rudy was no where to be found. I sat my stuff on the ground and waited for him to come. I was playing with the petals of the tree while minutes past.
It was thirty minutes later, and he still hasn't arrived. i felt embarrassed. I was stood up.
My eyes became watery and I slowly stood up and began walking home. My parents don't really care what time I come home, as long as I come back.
"Rosie, wait!" I glanced over my shoulder to see Rudy waving his hands at me. A part of me felt relieved, and another part of me felt pissed. I want to scream at him why didn't he come at the time he promised, but I don't want to come off as a bitch. I mean, we're not together.....yet.
I crossed my arms waiting for his excuse.
"I'm sorry I didn't come at the time I said I would, do you still have time to talk?"
I nodded and we both sat on the grass
"So, what happened?" I asked.
"I don't want this to sound corny but, I kinda took long because one, I had to meet with my coach, and two, I was building up the confidence to speak to you. Even if I know you like me, but I just needed pep talk from my friends. I would never do that to you, leave you when telling you to meet up with me."
"It's fine. I'm over it now." I smiled.
Why would he need pep talk and confidence to talk to me? ME? Rosalina, he most def likes you back. Now is the time to seize your moment!!
For at least five minutes, we stared at each other in admiration. Yes, for that long, it didn't feel weird at all.
"You know, I could tell that you liked me because of that day you were staring me down and I waved at you."
"I am so sorry for that. I was just— I was—"
"It's cool, it's cool. If it were me in your place I'd stare at you forever. I think you're pretty."
"I think you're cute." We both giggled at our compliments.
"If you didn't make the first move, I wouldn't have made a move also. I was waiting to see what you'd do and then I would go ahead. Sorry if I'm struggling to form a sentence, it's just nerve wracking talking to you, I mean that in a good way." He spoke. Who are you telling? My heart is going 737474737 miles per hour.
"If i didn't make the first move, i probably would have regretted it. But now i see that the feelings are the same soo..."
He chuckled and tucked a piece of my curly dark brown hair behind my ear. I bit on my lip hard while blushing and hid my face with my hands. Can this get any more better?
