Five year old Harry Potter sniffled quietly to himself. It was his birthday too. Why hadn't he got a broomstick too? Sirius was his godfather. Shouldn't he be getting more gifts from him? Sirius had given him a jumper, it was a nice jumper, but still.
Why did Jacob get a broomstick?

Remus had gotten him a really good book. It had pictures of dragons. It was wonderful. Jacob had the same thing but Harry was glad someone had given him something he liked. Harry didn't like to admit it, but sometimes he wished that Remus was his godfather. Remus always saw him. He felt wanted whenever Remus was around. He didn't obsess over Jake like the rest of them. He loved Jake, but at the same time he let Harry know that he was loved by Remus too.

Remus and his two year old sister, Rosalind Potter, were the only two people who loved him. He knew how his sister was named. To preserve the Evans family tradition she was to be named Rose. But the baby sister of the boy who lived cannot be named lightly, of course. And therefore she was named Rosalind.

To the five year old child, the unintentional neglect was something akin to dislike.

Downstairs, Remus Lupin was arguing with the said boy's parents and godfather.

"What do you mean you are working for Snivellus? He's a git and you know it!" Sirius Black exclaimed.

"Yeah, he was always a sodding git. The stupid prat. You know what he called Lily during fifth year!" James backed his friend up.

Lily Potter née Evans was quiet. She hadn't heard from her childhood best friend in forever. She had of course, heard of his success as a potioneer and businessman. It was all over the papers. Anyway, he was rumoured to be single now and the gossip columns always featured a new gold digging bint on his arm every other week, only to get ditched within the next few days. About two years ago, a woman had filed a paternity suit only to fail spectacularly. Lily didn't know what she was thinking, trying to pin a kid on him, that so obviously wasn't his. She was shocked by how Severus looked now. He clearly started exercising and put up muscles. Long gone were the greasy hair and oily skin. His hair was cropped into a good style and society's giggling fools whispered and awed at his bedroom prowess.

Blushing at the way her thoughts had gone, she paid attention to the matter at hand.

'' Listen, I know you guys are angry, but that incident was so long ago. We aren't teenagers anymore. I think Severus changed from the person he used to be at school. Besides we had no business picking on him at school. We were immature brats too, remember? Besides he's the only one who is willing to give me a job. You know it's difficult for me to find a job, what with my condition. I mean, I was just sitting there in that bar, dejected about another job I didn't get and he just walks in, buys me a drink and offers me a desk job with a contract of six months which will be extended later on could be extended. Do you really expect me to not take it? " Remus huffed at his friends.

In the end, James and Sirius had no choice but to accept the fact that Remus would be working for their school nemesis as Lily backed him up.

Miles away, Severus Snape was moving into a spectacular home. He and Amelia were living in a really good place until now but now he could afford a luxurious place where he could throw awesome parties and his little Amy could brag about to her friends. Not that she was a spoiled child, but quite the opposite, she was a very well behaved child. Severus had long forgotten Aphrodite's words about how she'll break Potter's son's heart, only remembering the more pleasant parts of it. He'll remember it once in a while but had long forgone obsessing over it.
