A/N:  I used my personal OC for this story. Feel free to use your own if you wish.

Optimus, I don't know if you'll see this. There is so much I want to say. So much I am afraid to say out loud. The war is over. The military is putting me under secret service protection. You'll probably never see me again. I'm sorry I can't say goodbye in person, but I'll be gone long before you get back. I wish I had told you this earlier, before you left, but I couldn't. I didn't want you distracted on the mission. I'll miss you, but I think this is for the best. I guess, what I really wanted to say is that I care for you very much. And because of that I want you to forget about me and keep on fighting. You'll find another partner, someone strong who can be out in the field with you and not hold you back. Someone who knows how to control their emotions and not disappoint you. Someone other than me. I know you are stronger than me, so this probably won't be as hard as you. You've seen a lot of people come and go. I'll just be another face in the past. Goodbye, Optimus. Keep fighting the good fight. I love you.

I looked at the letter I had just written, trying to control my tears. I guess this is it. I looked around my room. The bags sitting on my bed contained all my belongings. I heard a knock on the door.

"Time to go, Nightingale." The soldier said. I wiped my eyes, placed the letter in an envelope along with my tags, and opened the door.

"Will you see to it that Prime gets this?" I asked him, holding out the envelope. He took it and nodded. "It won't be the same around here without you." He said.

"You guys will manage." I smiled. Some guys came in and took my stuff down to the car. I followed them. On opened the door for me and I climbed in. It was a short drive to the plane that would take me away from my home to the new place I would be living in. As I climbed the stairs of said plane, I looked around at the place I had come to love. N.E.S.T. was my home. It always would be. But it was time to start a new chapter. I turned and climbed into the plane.

It was a long flight, and no one would tell me where I was going. I sat in silence most of the way, sleeping occasionally. But I was wide awake when we landed. I looked out the window. Wherever we were, it was green. There were lots of trees and bushes surrounding the private airport we had landed on. I unfastened my seatbelt and stood up, stretching my arms out. I was sore from sitting still for so long, and despite my sadness from leaving home, I was curious about this new place.

A soldier opened the plane door from the outside, and I was surprised to see a face I recognized. "Reynolds?" I asked, smiling.

"Good to see you again, Nightingale." She replied. Sargent Carolina Reynolds had been one of my training partners before I worked with the bots.

"So, you work protection now?" I asked.

"Just today. I caught word that you were coming here and jumped at the chance. I couldn't pass up seeing an old friend." She smiled. Someone whistled. "We best get you in the car." She said. I nodded.

On the way

Reynolds and I caught up on what the other had been doing. I couldn't give her many details, but she understood. As we talked, we drove deeper into the forest. There was green on every side. "So, is there a shooting range near this place?" I asked. She smiled again.

"You'll just have to wait and see when we get there." I groaned. I hated not knowing things, especially when it has something to do with me. Leaning back in the seat, I closed my eyes. We'll be there soon enough, I told myself. Sure enough, about five minutes later I hear Reynolds say "There it is. I opened my eyes and gasped. There, up ahead and getting larger every second, was one of the most charming houses I had ever seen. It was two stories, baby blue with a white trim, and had a wrap-around porch. There was even a porch swing. I stepped out of the car and smiled.
