Hunter woke up slowly as Atlas flew past Pluto "we are here" she said as she landed carefully
Hunter stood up "ugh I hate space hopping!" He woke Luna up carefully "be careful getting up lass you are going to be in a lot of pain" Luna slowly woke up wheezing and spitting "I never want to do that again" she said between coughs.
The Ship started to rattle and shake violently. Confused, Hunter jumps into the pilot seat as Atlas got up "what's happening?" Hunter shouted as the ship started to break apart.
"The light manipulator has started to malfuncti--" Atlas was cut off by a explosion in the rear of the ship sending Hunter through the front of the ship and landing hard against the solid walkways
"LUNA NO!" Hunter shouted as the ship was torn apart from the inside out. Hunter ran towards the ship but was stopped by Atlas "DUCK!" She shouted as she pinned him down narrowly missing a shard of ship. As Hunter got up the black hole pulled everything nearby into it. Hunter fell to his knees defeated and sighed as he felt the pain of loss flow through him
She was gone. Hunter stood up and dragged himself towards the airlock, he and atlas said nothing as they entered the station. There was no words to be spoken.
Hunter walked into the lobby of the station and saw everything was dead
"Atlas? What happened here?" He asked as he started to boot up a terminal.
"I don't know" Atlas replied shocked "I've never seen anything like this and I don't feel too good about is.” Atlas finished.
"Neither do I, keep your guard up and stick close, you're all I have left Atlas" Hunter said
Hunter got to a broken door and pulled it open, peering down the dark corridor, Hunter saw a figure standing there between flickers of light.
"What is that Atlas?" Hunter asked worried. Atlas looked and scanned the creature noticing it's malformed and jagged body
"It is composed of machinery but is coated by this black mass" Atlas replied. They both looked at eachother me back at the creature but was met by darkness. Then red blinking dots appeared representing eyes.
" Hunter, I think we should leave" Atlas said as the creature moved closer picking up pace
"SHUT THE DOOR!" Hunter shouted. Both Hunter and Atlas grabbed the door and started to pull it together but was stopped when black organic glowing masses pushed against them and grabbed Atlas. Hunter pulled the door down hard separating the mass and grabbed Atlas' injuried frame.
"You're not going anywhere!" He said and he carried Atlas deeper into the body of the ship.
Hunter panicked noticing more creatures running after them. He got into the main atrium and looked in a blind panic for somewhere to go. " Hangar!" He shouted to himself as he sprinted with Atlas into the hangar bay.
He stood at the entrance to the main bay and smiled as he saw his old ship hanging on chains. Opening the hatch he pulled Atlas into the ship and shut the hatch, locking it before the creatures could follow inside.
Hunter looked at atlas and saw the mass growing inside and around her "atlas...." He said dimly
"Do I still look beautiful?" She giggled to herself
" Of course you do!" Hunter replied
"Give me your hand Hunter, I have a gift for you" Atlas said
Hunter held his hand out and took atlas' hand. She collapsed into the floor. Hunter looked down defeated once again but opened his hand and smiled as he saw the hard drive in his hand.
"Cleaver" he said with hope. Standing up, Hunter dragged The mass that was once atlas and threw it out of the hatch and locked it once again behind him.
Walking through his ship into the engine room, Hunter grabbed the lever and threw it down hard, the ship creaked and scrapped as the power entered it's dry gains.
" It's good to be back" Hunter said between his grin. Hunter entered the bridge and smiled as he heard the ships engine roar with life.
Hunter's smile dropped as he looked at all the empty chairs. Then powered the ship up to flight.
Hunter sat into his chair and smiled as he stated with pride " flight to Forerunner home world micassia" the ships voice answered
"Yes captain"
