Your POV
"Bloody hell, Charlie. Calm down," I said to the little boy running around my new apartment. He was pretending to be an airplane.
"A-auntie Y/n! Auntie Y-y/n! Auntie Y/n!" Charlie stuttered, jumping up and down.
"What? I'm trying to make scones for your Mum!" I said placing the scones on the trays.
"L-look! T-the sun. It-i...it's shining," The boy pointed to the window. I put the scones in the oven. I look through the window behind the sink.
"Would ya look at that. Now, Charlie, I have a present for you," I say wiping my hands on my apron.
"A-a present?" He askes following me to the coat rack. I rummage through the right pocket. I go into the other pocket of my jacket and grab the small box. I hand it to my nephew. He opens it. "A-a horsey?".
"Yes, sweety, it's a horse. My friend, the artist, made it just for you." I said smiling. He looks like I just gave him the most amazing thing ever. He is filled with an innocence that you only have for a short time. Only until you learn about the world. I smile at this. I grab one of the books of short stories on the shelf. I sit on the couch in the small living room. I flip open the page I left off on.
Clarissa waved her wand. The woman's clothing immediately changed to match her setting. She changed from an elegant gown to a chef's uniform. She grabbed the key from the bust boy and passed it to Dan as she passed him. He took the key to the closet in the back. Oshana was stationed there. Handed the necklace to her and went back to his date and the target, Hana. Jay was waiting for his signal. When she saw the queue, she gave Hana the fake necklace, which immediately affected her. She got nauseous and started to fade in and out of consciousness. Daniel took her to the meeting location. Clarissa was there first. And Oshana followed after Jay.
"We got her!" cheered Clarrisa. She grabbed the expensive champagne. She poured. "A toast to us. A toast to Ms. Hana, here. And a toast to justice." The four cheered.
All the cheering woke her up. She tried to move but she was tied up. "What the hell? Where the fuck am I." She asked disoriented.
"You're with us, honey," said Daniel in the harshest tone. She screa-
"Ow-ow-owie" Charlie cried. I put my book down and ran to Charlie who was holding his head in his hands and crying. I tried to remove his hands but they wouldn't budge.
"Let me see. Let me see. Charlie." I said sternly. He removes his hand. There was a bump. "What did you do?" I asked. He shook his head still crying. I go to the kitchen and get a wet cloth. I hand him the cold washcloth. "Hold this to your head. Do you want anything else?"
He holds the cloth to his head. "C-can you p-play our p-piano song for me?"
"Sure," I said and walked to the small piano in the corner of my living room. I pulled out the stool and sat with Charlie. I start with a C chord followed by a G, then a C and last an A. I started to play at a faster rhythm. He hums the melody. He then plays a harmony. Which is D, Em, D, F.
When we finished our little song he had stopped crying. "How much time do we have left till the scones come out?" asked Charlie. I looked at the clock.
"One minute," I say walking to the kitchen, "But we have to put in 4 more dozens"
"My mum only asked for 5 dozens can you only bake one at a time?"
"No, I made extra, so we could have some while we wait," I say ruffling his hair, he giggles. The egg timer goes off and I grab an oven mitt. We take out the trays and put the next ones in. Charlie takes one, "Charles, be careful it's going to be h-"
"Ahh, why is it so hot!?"
"It just came out of the oven!" I answer. I shake my head at the boy. "Now sit down," I say leading him to the dining room. I give the boy 5 boxes to open. I take the hot trays to the table, then go retrieve some cooling trays and a spatula.
I take the scones off the trays place them on the cooling trays.
