~Aliyah's POV~
I woke up the next morning and looked around the room seeing that Zion was still sleeping next to me. I looked on the night stand and saw the phone I got out of bed and quietly walked to the other side. I grabbed the phone and quickly walked to the bathroom I shut the door but there was no lock on it.
I opened the phone and went to the dial list I tried to remember Nick's number "654 3216?" I said while typing the number in. I hit dial and put the phone up to my ear it started dialing and I smiled to myself. All of a sudden there was a pounding noise at the front door "Nevada police open up!" the person yelled making my heart drop. I quickly closed the phone and ran out the bathroom to see Zion jolt up and grab the bag full of money. "You have 10 seconds to open the door or we're coming in!" the guy yelled.
"get everything hurry!" Zion whisper yelled to me. I grabbed the charger for the phone and we both ran to the bathroom. "5 seconds!" the police officer yelled Zion opened the window and threw the bag out "come on" he said holding his hand out. I grabbed it and he pushed me out the window. I fell on my knee and I heard the front door blast open and I looked up seeing Zion jump out the window.
I quickly stood up as he grabbed the bag I grabbed the car keys and we ran to the parking lot. "right there!" I heard the raspy voice say I turned my head and saw the girl from the gift shop. "I knew she looked familiar!" she yelled as the police came out the room.
We saw two cop cars parked we hurried and ran to the car Zion unlocked the doors and I jumped in shutting and locking the door as he started the car. "oh fuck" he said as he started driving away I heard something hit the car and I looked out the window seeing the police man holding up a gun. There was another clash and a bullet went through the back window and in the front window making me scream.
Zion turned the car and we were out the way of the motel but he was still speeding. "give me the phone!" he yelled while holding his hand out. I listened and handing him the phone he unrolled the window and threw it out the window. He rolled the window back up and looked at me "who were you calling?" he said lowering his voice.
"nobody" I said lying to him "don't lie I know you were calling someone why else would you have the phone?" he said as I sighed putting my seat belt on. "Nick" I said quietly while looking out the window. "really? what the hell would he have done?" Zion said he was being honest what would Nick have done? But honestly I just wanted to talk to him and tell him I was okay I'm sure he was worried about me.
"are you fucking stupid why would you do that!" he yelled at me. I started getting pissed off "of course you had to get noticed none of that would've happened!" he yelled as I turned my head to him. "you think I meant to get us in trouble because I didn't! I don't wanna fucking be here especially with you! does it even matter what you're doing to me I can't see my friends or contact them ever again and you're moving me across the fucking country!" I yelled getting him real quiet.
He didn't say anything he just stared at the road. I turned my head back and looked out the window. "I'm sorry" Zion said quietly "I don't want to be here either and I should think about you I never really thought about that" Zion said. He put his hand on my leg and I ignored him as I kept looking out the window.
"are you gonna say something?" he asked as I kept ignoring him. "okay damn" he said moving his hand away from me and back on the wheel.
~Nicks POV~
I walked into the police station because Rose told me she had important news. I walked back to her office and knocked on the door. "come in" she said as I opened the door. I walked in and shut the door. I walked to her desk and sat down "what happened do you know where she is?" I asked frantically. "calm down tiger" she said half smiling at me. "well the good news is that you're not a suspect anymore" she said making me sigh of relief.
"but that's because they found a hair and sent it to the labs and it's Zion" she said as I tensed up again. "and we know she's with him because they were in the news" she said typing on her computer as I looked at her confused.
She moved the monitor to me and read the first sentence. "Zion Kuwonu was spotted at a motel in Nevada with ex girlfriend Aliyah Harper". "they got away but I hate to break it to you it looks like she ran with him" Rose said as I shook my head. "she wouldn't leave with him she hates him" I said as she sighed. "in the video it looks like she's running to the car with him" Rose said as I shook my head. There's no way Aliyah hates Zion she would never.
~Aliyah's POV~
"you haven't said a word to me all day" Zion said as I side eyed him. "I know you're mad but I'll make it up to you" he said pulling the car off the highway. It was now dark outside and all you could see were lights at a rest stop.
He pulled the car into the rest stop and parked in a parking space where right in front of us was a phone booth. "you can call one person but don't tell them anything about the plan or where you are" Zion said as I smiled at him. "here" he said handing me the dollar "oh my god I love you" I said taking the dollar and getting out the car. I practically ran to the phone booth.
I put the dollar in and picked up the phone dialing Nicks number. The line started ringing and I looked over seeing Zion leaning on the front of the car. "hello?" I heard Nicks voice say making me smile. "oh my god Nick! It's me Aliyah" I said smiling. "Aliyah are you okay where are you?" Nick said fast as I laughed. "I'm fine for now and I'm not sure where I am" I said leaning on the glass. "I saw you were with Zion what happened?" Nick said. As bad as I wanted to tell him I couldn't because we would get caught. "Nick just know that I'm okay but I don't think I'll be able to come back home" I said. "Aliyah stop being weird just tell me where you are and I can come get you" he said as I shook my head.
"no I can't I'm sorry but I can't come home either so this is goodbye Nick" I said as a tear went down my face. I was coming to accept the fact that I won't see my friends again it was hard but I had to. "Aliyah what? this isn't goodbye?" he said confused. "don't tell anyone this happened please promise me" I said wiping away my tears. "okay okay I promise" he said as I half smiled.
"Bye for now Nick" I said "Aliyah wait" Nick said as I hung up the phone. I wiped away my tears and looked in front of me at Zion who was kicking the gravel in the parking lot with his feet. I took a deep breath as I walked up to him.
"we're going to stop somewhere to get clothes and food, you're gonna start being nice to me, when we get to new York you're buying me a new phone, also this doesn't mean we're friends" I said counting my fingers as I said each thing. I walked past him and sat back inside the car. He leaned on the car for a moment longer then came inside. No one said anything but he started the car and started driving again.
