The 'BOOM!' echoed through the shoe-shaped house like a great ripple of despair for Luna Lovegood and her father. As Luna reached the bedroom door, she sank to her knees, her interesting smile no longer spread across her face.

She had thought perhaps, that Nargles had been having some fun in her mother's bedroom or that Daddy's printing press had just printed its last 'Quibbler' or maybe a Crumple-Horned Snorkack had crashed through the wall. But no. It was none of these happy thoughts that had just occurred.

The body of a woman lay lifeless and black on the bedroom floor. Luna heard her father's sobs as he pulled her into a hug, attempting to shield her from the awful sight. Luna felt a tear run down her pale face as it dawned on her that her mother had just experimented for the last time.

The room was draped with pale yellow curtains, bright daisies painted upon the gleaming coffin.

The body was rapped in robes of magnolia, a wand of White Ash resting under Daisy Lovegood's folded arms.

Luna strolled towards the body of her mother, carrying a golden locket that lay open showing her face. The daughter of the corpse beamed as she placed the locket around Daisy's neck and stroked her white blonde hair.

And then Xenophilius approached his wife sadly holding a silver ring on which was embroidered the initials X.L. He slipped it along her left ring finger where it joined the golden ring that had bonded them six years ago. A tear splashed down upon Daisy's heart. Before he could wipe it from her chest, the tear burned and was there no longer. Her heart had absorbed it and her face had creased into a peaceful smile.

The body levitated above the open coffin and sank into the cushioned bed below. The coffin sealed itself concealing the body inside. Xenophilius placed his head into his hands, his eyes swelling with more tears. Luna put a hand upon is shoulder and spoke. 'Orchideous.'

A bouquet of flowers were conjured out of the clear air and descended down to rest on the coffin for evermore.

Daisy Lovegood would rest in peace.
