A Spy's Legacy

March 24 1984

My first mission is today. I have to go undercover in a german military base. The details were slim but it should be a breeze. I was dropped off 1 mile from the base so I could get in stealthily. I made sure to bring my bag with me so I would have my equipment. I went through a small forest and set up small checkpoints for when I came back out. I'd do some markings of random symbols. Now that I've done them I need to get inside. As I was getting close I noticed a shortage of gaurds. And a patrol of 1 man. I hid in the bushes and took him out. I then took his uniform and put it on. Now to get inside and steal intel and the layout for this base. I got in luckily after this guys patrol was over. I searched the base alittle and found the layout. Now to take out the commander so I can get the intel. Just then I noticed a barrel sticking out of the doorway. I noticed I was trapped as multiple doors opened slowly. I kicked the first door firing is pistol in pain. It hit my arm and I started running. My cover was blown so I threw a smoke and then a grenade. I pulled out my favorite pistol the M1911. I fired a few rounds running towards the door. I took out a few gaurds but I was also injured running on adrenaline. I needed to get out fast. I burst through the door and outside and fell over. I started to feel the pain from the bullet as my adrenaline started to dwindle. I ran for the forest to get to a radio I stashed in a bush. It took 15 minutes to find as I kept looking back searching. I kept going following my marks as I radioed in. I had to sit and wait. Blood was going down my arm as I watched it slowly flow down and drop onto the ground. Finally the helicopter was in view and I got up to be prepared. When it landed I got in and handed the folder to the person in charge. We headed back to base and I got treatment. Just some of the many scars I'll get during my time as a spy. Many are from stupid choices. But those are stories for another time. -End of Entry.
