She walked forward with her music books in her hands across the university lawn and everyone was playing around and it was getting close to summer so everyone was chill plus everyone was pretty happy that if Whoville received no funding it would shut down and honestly Gertrude didn't have much of an opinion on the matter so she just went through her days having no thoughts on the matter. But she was distracted enough as it is in Nool University's Music program and Gertrude was pretty talented she could play several instruments and had a great voice. She was pretty busy and didn't have many friends I mean she had three friends that she hung out with occasionally but they went to many more parties and tried to make her ask out Horton who she got really nervous around and all she could do is stutter and no matter what she did she never was able to work up the courage to talk to him. But anyway it was a relatively peaceful day until Sour walked onto the lawn and she walked onto the lawn and confronted Horton "Well look who it is the big nerd on campus." Horton blushed a bright red "Hello Sour." Sour said, "So guess what I saw!" Baby Kangaroo said "What?" She acted surprised. At this point, Gertrude was scared for Horton and what Sour might do but Sour said: "I saw Horton conspiring with Arnold Mayor!" Everyone else laughed and Horton said, "I was just trying to think of ways we could prevent Whoville from closing." Sour laughed "Why! They're only a small school plus they're our rivals and lately have been beating us in football so why should you care instead you should be celebrating like the rest of us." Sour slapped him down and laughed "Come on let's show this fool what happens when you don't have enough school pride." Almost everyone on the lawn started to beat him up and Gertrude wanted to help but she was too afraid as after five minutes they finally backed off of him and Gertrude ran to help the hurt Horton.
