I'm going to be very honest, it's rather hard for me to write this atm as I'm nearly done with The Curse of An Alpha (I'm writing chapters ahead of publishing) so my head is deep in Alice's and Colden's love life lol. I hope you enjoy this, I'm not sure when the next part will be out as I do have exams from the 14th till the 22nd. Joy ugh.

Ophelia

Ophelia had been anxious all day. Students couldn't get over the fact that she had come to school with someone, Amelia of all people, and of the fact that she now wasn't a social pariah. That thought surprised even herself. She had tried to warn her new friend of the consequences that hanging around her would bring, but Amelia was keen to dispel her worries.

"They're not worth my time, Philly," she had said, resorting to her mama's nickname, "and I didn't come here to be popular."

Ophelia stood behind Amelia in the cafeteria, the first time that she had come here since she came back to school. She was waiting for Amelia to finish picking out her food, even though Ophelia had warned her against it, so that they could go and eat it elsewhere.

"Where do you normally sit then, if not here?" Amelia looked at her with raised eyebrows and a twinkle in her eye as she handed the dinner lady some cash.

"Mr Clerk lets me eat in his classroom, as long as I do some work afterwards." Ophelia offered, aware of the eyes that stared at them. She could see Ed sitting in the far table near the windows with all of the jocks. Kelsey and her cronies were gathered around them, attempting to dig their claws in, but he seemed pretty indifferent.

She met Kelsey's stare. Ophelia couldn't figure out why she had a problem with her. Heck, it wasn't like she was acquainted with Sarah in the first place, they had briefly exchanged glances on the day that she had been rejected. But it seemed that Kelsey, Sarah's sister, felt threatened by Ophelia's return.

"I see my brother is settling in," Amelia crinkled her nose in distaste as to who Ed befriended. She followed Ophelia out of the cafeteria, her food in her bag. "I don't understand what he sees in them. They all seem...fake."

"They are, but I suppose Ed fits into their image," Ophelia cast her a side glance, "you know, with his muscular build and styled blonde locks. If he were a character in a novel, I'm pretty sure he'd be referred to as an epitome of a jock."

Amelia chuckled, a beaming smile on her face, "that he is. He thrives in social situations. Me on the other hand, I can't stand girls like them. Full of shit, the lot of them."

A small laugh bubbled out of Ophelia's lips. It was hard not to like Amelia since she was so friendly and bubbly; perhaps she should count herself as lucky that someone like her was interested to be friends with her. She hadn't always been a social outcast, though. Before her life went to shit she actually had a close group of friends since middle school, she was liked and known.

Unlike now.

Ophelia led them into Mr Clerk's classroom. He wasn't there, most likely in the cafe just down the street attempting to finish his novel. There was a note on his desk written in bright red ink:

'Feel free to eat here, Ophelia. I'll be gone all lunch so if you need anything, go see Miss Susie.

Mr Clerk.'

A sigh of relief left her. Amelia's eyes traced over the paintings that decorated the walls and the hippie appearance that the room had. "Cool," she finally said, following Ophelia to her station.

"You're an artist then?"

Ophelia nodded, pulling out the bagel Amelia had gotten her that morning, "been one all of my life."
