Rooftop

love

I slowly made my way to the place where peace embraces me in a mellow hug, where the wind shields me from the outside world, where the stars look down at me with a gaze filled with so much warmth. The rooftop always had this calming effect on me, the gentle absence of sound was soothing and lovable, it was just like when my mother would softly sing to me when I was small. I quietly sat down along the edges, positioning myself so that I will not fall. I was so high above the ground that the blaring cars below could barely make a sound. The ominous sapphire sky above seems to close, it looked like I could reach out my petite hand nonchalantly and reach for the glittering stars. The night breeze was very tame and pleasant, it was a little chilly, but I was not cold.

I sat there for a good amount of time before a soft and syrupy voice resonated against the little walls around the border. It was rich like chocolate yet cottony. A charming and velvety voice that suits its owner.

"Aren't you cold up here?"

Knowing that he has already learned that this is my favourite place, I giggled at his stupid comment but appreciated how thoughtful he is.

"No Jinjin, I'm not cold, it's very nice here. The wind isn't too strong."

I softly patted the space beside me, gesturing him to sit beside me. He complied, his footsteps and shallow breath becoming louder as he came nearer. I looked up at him, taking in his adorable delicacy and his fair beauty that leaves me breathless everytime he gets close.

"What were you thinking about, Minnie, you seem really deep in thought"

"I was just enjoying the scenery and quiet until you came with that...annoying voice of yours."

That endearing, entrancing, angelic voice of yours, was what I was truly thinking, but there was no way I could ever say that out loud. Never in a million years unless I want to face countless acts of teasing and endless embarrassment.

"Am I really that annoying?"

Hyunjin chuckled after asking his own question, what a dork. Who did he think he is, he has to be annoying for me to give him the title! I looked at him with a simple unamused face, which only led to him to giggle like a small child. Despite trying to seem slightly bothered by his ataractic presence, I could not help but melt in the sight in front of me. He was just overly cute and I was absolutely hopeless against his sweet, childish nature. Jinnie was so perfect and talented, I just want to protect him until the end of space and time, until the stars come to collect him again. His eyes shone like a precious jewel being lit by the golden sun, I could see the constellations reflecting in them and I wish they will never lose their light. His cheeks are painted with a tender peach. A noticeable blush was gingerly brushed across his smooth skin, I wondered how it would feel to touch his silky skin. His lips were tainted a lovely pink, delicate and kissable, they were a small pair of lips but fitted well with his detailedly sculpted features. I genuinely just want to lean in and kiss him right there, underneath the glistening moonlight and accompanied by the luminous stars. He really does look flawless, even when his hair was a fluffy mess and his smirk was acting too confident for my liking.

"Admit it, you are pretty annoying."

"Annoyingly handsome, am I right?"

"Hah, far from the truth"

"Then why did I catch you staring at me huh, Seungmin?"

His eyebrow went up, taunting and mocking me for my action and my unwillingness to tell the truth. I hated that he was right, he truly is annoyingly handsome.

"That's for me to know and you to find out."

With that, I left Hyunjin on the rooftop stuck with the autumn night breeze and the quiet busy streets below, leaving him in an amused daze as I walked towards the stairs almost mockingly, returning back to my cozy room to cuddle with my plushies in a blanket.

Also, they could see s o m e stars because the building is built very high and away from the lights, and Seungmin has been there for a while so his eyes adapted to the darker surrounding.
