The busses had all arrived outside the side door that lead to the cafeteria. That meant we could enter. I hurry out the doors of the bus and rush to get inside as it's a chilly morning and I forgot my jacket. As I enter the cafeteria I happen to notice Andy walking with his little sister Addy. He's wearing the shirt I bought him last semester, it was blue with that oh-so familiar little bird on the corner. It buttoned up and had the cutest collar on it and he knew just how to wear it; messy hair, khakis couldn't be better. I walk over to him and he keeps talking to Addy like I don't exist. I chime into their conversation...
"Hey guys!", I said louder than expected. Andy turns to look at me and smiles a little you can tell it isn't real. I feel like nothing with him is real anymore. But this smile was different he seemed hurt emotionally.
"Hey.", Addison replies with a sense of disappointment in her voice. Now I definitely know something's wrong.
"What's wrong with you guys?", I asked out of general concern. "Y'all seem so gloomy this morning, someone pour salt in your wheaties?" I chuckle to lighten up the mood.
"We are-", Addy started before interrupted by her brother.
"Nothing, we're fine.", Andy says right before he turns to walk his sister to class. I keep walking my own way being late to class again wouldn't be a good idea.
