"But I still want you."

yoongi's bangs sprung to life as the wind blew in the boy's face, leaves and flower petals flying past him.

it was a bright saturday morning and what better way to spend it like going to the hospital.

it was nearly the end of high school and yoongi needed to somehow gain enough community service points in order to graduate.

at first yoongi wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter or even a library but of course most of the students had already beat him to it, he easily figured out why so many students wanted to volunteer there. both places were extremely close to the school, of course there wouldn't be any more spaces available for yoongi.

yoongi had really wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter just because it was not that far from the school nor his apartment complex and because of the fluffy animals. duh. when his friend jin broke the news to him he was beyond devastated. jin had offered to bring yoongi to where he volunteered at and of course like the stubborn boy yoongi was it took a lot of convincing.

the only reason why he was so stubborn was simply because one, the hospital was twenty minutes away from his house and yoongi had claimed to be too old for that kind of walk. two, jin volunteered to work with the severely depressed teenagers. yoongi wasn't the type to listen to some random brat rant about their problems but jin claimed that it was interesting and that it could help yoongi come out of his shell in a way.

after a while of nagging and complaining yoongi finally agreed to it. jin was beyond excited that he would be working with his best friend in the same hospital but that excitement soon faded with yoongi's cold words, "as soon as i obtain enough community service points i'm going to quit."

and we're back to the where it all started, yoongi had finally made it to the hospital, his legs sore and shaky as he stumbled into the tall building. the lady at the front desk took a small glance at yoongi and raised an eyebrow, "may i help you sir?"

yoongi simply nodded and made his way up to the counter, "is there any way i could volunteer here? ya know, like for community service hours and that stuff, it's something i need to do in order to graduate but if you don't have any more spots open i understand." yoongi quietly mumbled to the brown haired lady, he slickly tried to make his voice as desperate as possible and it somehow managed to work on her.

she slightly grinned at yoongi as she dug through a drawer of files, "of course you can, I just need you to sign a few papers with your information, the name to your school and that's pretty much it." yoongi nodded and took a long stare at the papers now in front of him, after he finished filling out his information he handed them back to the receptionist, a proud smile on his face.

"alright min yoongi, now before I show you around I actually need to know what kind of group you'd be interested in helping."

yoongi stared down at his feet, he thought hard about his decision. the receptionist patiently waited for his response, her hands curling up under her clipboard.

"may i work with the depressed teenagers, or is there another name for that group? if so i'm sorry."

suddenly the lady's eyes lit up, she quickly typed something into her computer and stood up from her chair, her grin only grew wider, "very well then, you can start tomorrow if you'd like but if you want i could show you who you're going to be helping." yoongi hesitantly agreed and followed her into an elevator, the silent tension made yoongi uncomfortable but out of nowhere the brown haired lady cleared her throat, "my name is irene by the way."

yoongi grinned in response and before he knew it they had already made it to his "patient's" room. before irene knocked on the bland door she explained a few things to yoongi, she explained how he acted around new people and how timid he could get.

"he can get a bit hot headed but he's usually a sweetheart so I hope he won't be any trouble." irene whispered with a small sigh escaping her lips, yoongi nodded and took a few steps back as she gently knocked on the door.

"w-w-who's there..?" a soft timid voice was heard from the other side of the door, yoongi couldn't help but worry, what if he frightened the young boy?

irene took a deep breath and replied, "it's me kookoo, i met somebody who was interested in being your friend!~ could i bring them in?" irene cooed in a sweet gentle voice.

silence.

"kookoo?"

"a-alright.."

irene slowly opened the door to reveal nothing but the color white, the walls were pure white as was the ground, the lights and bedsheets were also white. not a single speck of color was found other than a shivering boy with light brown hair, he was lying down on his bed and without even analyzing his face yoongi instantly knew that he had been crying. tears were visible on his bedsheets and pillow.

"w-w-who is he..?"

irene smiled warmly, "this is yoongi and he is going to look after you and make sure you are as happy as can be~" irene replied, her hands gently pinched the boy's chubby cheeks. the boy shifted his eyes at yoongi and frowned, "scared.. h-he looks mean.."

yoongi couldn't help but pout, he wondered if this is what all people thought of him. "kookoo don't be rude, i'm sure you two will get along just fine."

the boy raised an eyebrow at yoongi and furrowed his eyebrows, "f-fine." his voice suddenly became deeper and raspy. irene ruffled the boy's hair before staring back at yoongi, "i'll leave you two to introduce yourselves." and with that irene left the room leaving yoongi and boy alone.

yoongi cleared his throat and stretched his arm out, "i'm y-"

"i already know your name." the boy swatted yoongi's hand away and curled up into a ball, he gave yoongi one last cold glare before pulling the bedsheet over his head.

"could I at least get your name kookoo?"

suddenly the young boy shot up from under his covers and yowled, "don't call me that! you're not allowed to call me kookoo!" yoongi slightly flinched at his harsh words, all he wanted to know was his name.

yoongi slowly walked up to the door, clearly this introduction didn't go as planned but he wasn't going to force the boy into anything, if he didn't want to tell yoongi his name then so be it.

before yoongi left the room he took one more glance at the boy who was now sobbing under the covers and sighed, "i'll see you tomorrow."

silence.

irene stood up from her stool as yoongi stepped out of the room with slight sorrow in his eyes, "everything okay? what happened?" yoongi shrugged in response, "i think he's scared of me."

"oh." irene placed a hand over her forehead and quietly sighed, "i'm sure he's just tired, come back tomorrow and maybe he'll be more.. awake."

yoongi nodded and began to walk towards the elevator, but before he did he glanced at irene and tilted his head to the side, "would you mind telling me his name? i don't wanna have to bother him about it tomorrow."

"his name is jeongguk. jeon jeongguk."
