I was grounded. I can't remember why. I've been grounded too many times to keep track of the reasons. . . But then again, hasn't everyone?
My mum and dad had gone to their friends funeral in Tullamore earlier in the day. They wouldn't be back home for a few hours and I was so bored. That was until my phone vibrated in my pocket, it was a text message from my friend Joanna.
FROM: Joanna
Open da door! I'm comin in!
'Joanna, Joanna,' I thought with a sigh. My best friend is the bossiest person I'd ever had the pleasure of meeting.
The door bell rang and I scurried forward to let Joanna in. "Do you wanna go down town?" Joanna asked the moment I opened the door.
"I'm grounded," I informed her, raising an eyebrow incredulously at her.
"So? It doesn't matter! Your parents aren't home and we'll get you back well before your mum and dad get home," she promised, clasping her hands together, like she was begging me.
"Fine," I sighed. "But we have to be back by six,and it's three now."
"We will be," she promised, grabbing my arm and dragging me out the door after her.
The thing is, when Joanna goes shopping, she loses all track of time, it's just her and the clothes she's thinking about buying, and to be honest, I'm no better. "Shit!" I hissed, pulling out my phone from my jean pocket. "Joanna, it's 7:03pm!"
"Damn!" She gasped, face palming herself . "We were meant to be home over an hour ago, Rose!"
"I know," I started speed walking out of Penneys. "Are you coming?"
"Yeah," Joanna's reply came from directly behind me.
We made it to the round about, just up the road from pennyes, when my parents silver BMW pulled up beside us.
My mother stuck her head out of the passengers window, wearing a pissed off expression,"ROSE MARIE KELLY, YOU GO HOME, RIGHT NOW AND GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR ROOM! YOU'RE GROUNDED FOR THE NEXT MONTH!" She yelled angrily at me.
As she was screaming at me, a brand new, shiny red GOLF car came speeding around the round about and bumped into the back of my parents car, which made them to go out into the middle of the road. A lorry came crashing straight into the side of my parents car and made it go spinning down the road, leaving parts of our car scattered all around the road.
My heart skipped a beat, and then it began pounding furiously in my chest. All I could think of was what had happen to Mum and Dad. I could vaguely hear the sounds of Joanna's screams and sobs in the background.
All I could think of was if my parents were okay. I don't know how long I was standing there, just staring at the remains of my parents car. I didn't acknowledge the tugging on my arm, that was Joanna, trying to get me back from the middle of the road, where I was standing; I didn't even realise that I had made my way out into the middle of the road. I didn't hear the police or the ambulance sirens getting closer and closer. I just wanted Mum and Dad to get out of the piece of scrap metal, that use to be a perfectly good vehicle. I would love to face my mother's anger, if it meant that herself and Dad would be alright.
This was all my fault. If I hadn't of left the house, when I knew I wasn't allowed to, then this wouldn't of happened.
Why did I listen to Joanna and leave the house?
~ Six Months Later ~
People say it gets less painful to remember these sort of incidents, but that's a lie; It gets harder each day at first you feel numb, but then the pain starts to set in. Well , thats how it was for me anyway.
The tears were streaming down my face as I thouht back to the day I'd lost my parents, while I sat on the plane, that was taking me to London to live with my Aunt and Uncle.
After my parents death, I'd stayed in a foster home in Mullingar, whilst my elderly grandparents took care of my parents funeral, and some legal business; they were trying to get custody of me, but apparently, they were too old, even though they were family. Eventually, my aunt and uncle had succeeded in convincing them, that I'd be better off joining them in London, to which I'd immediately agreed, seeing as I'd wanted a fresh start.
"The plane will be landing in five minutes, please return to your seats and fasten your seat belts." The poilot's voice came from over the intercom.
As I made my way off the plane, I went to collect my luggage from the conveyor belts.
I made my way out of the airport , looking for my Aunt and Uncle. I saw a large group of screaming, teenage girls chasing five guys, there was a blond boy, who was looking back at the girls as he ran, he was running directly at me, for some strange reason the idea of removing myself from the boys path didn't occur to me. Before I knew it, I found myself laying on the ground. My arse had hit the ground with a hard thump, when I'd fallen. 'Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark,' I thought, glancing around, noticing that my luggage had scattered all over the place when I'd fallen. I still couldn't see the blond boys face, as my hair had fallen across my face, obscuring my vision.

One minute my band mates and I were being chased through the airport by screaming fans. The next thing I knew I'd landed straight on top of something or someone. "Oh; I'm so sorry", I apologised, stretching out my hand to helping the person up.
"It's okay," said a girl with an Irish accent just like my own.
'Uh oh, it's a girl, I'm so dead,' I thought. "Please don't hurt me," I begged, raising my hands to protect my face.
She laughed, "Why would I hurt you?"
Oh good, she musn't be a fan! Wait a minute, I know that laugh. If her hair wasn't in her face I could of sworn that she was Rose Kelly, my next door neighbour from my home town of Mullingar, County Westmeath, we'd grown up together and were very close friends, like brother and sister.
"Rose?" I asked She looked up, her eyes widening as she pushed her hair out of her face, giving me the shock of my life.
"Niall?!" She asked, surprised. Surprise being the understatement.
