Prologue

“You have to find him, you have to. He’s the only person I’ve got. Please, tell me you’ll find him. Find my son.” She pleaded through the phone towards the emergency operator.

“Calm down. Was he taken? Is there a break in?” The man wondered from the other line.

“I--no, I don’t know. Please, he’s the only one I’ve got.” The woman uncontrollably.

“Ma’am, the police are already on there way. I need you to calm down and make sure to stay on the line incase there is still someone in your house, can you do that?” The emergency tip liner replied using a regular calming voice.

There was a deep sigh on the other end. “I’ll try, but tell the police, they aren’t fast enough. I want my son back!”

There was a knock at the door and voices. The mother recoiled to a corner for sure safety. Then, silence, until sudden gun shots. She kept quiet, frightened that the door might swing open and reveal her dead son or invaders trying to kill her. A voice spoke next to her making her jump but she didn’t dare scream. “Are you still there? Are you alright?” The man on the other line spike quietly. She looked at the phone in fear that it might give her hiding spot away.

“Yes, I think the invaders just shot the police. Please, help me!” She whispered back into the two holes in the phone frantically. The door slammed open, and the mother clamped her hands over her mouth. Horrible silence filled the house, and she held her breath hoping in fear that nothing would harm her or her missing son.
