"Hahaha! I got you!"

"No way, Naruto-nii-chan!"

"Let him free, Nii-chan!"

"No! Stop! That tickles! Please Itachi!"

"Yes, Itachi-nii-chan saved us! Come on Hiro!"

Itachi held —and tickled— Naruto in his arms. The kids were Hiro -4 years old now-, Yuki -15 years old- and Hikaru -16 years old-.

It has been 3 years since that faithful day. Naruto was 20 and Itachi 25.

After Itachi kissed him they soon became a couple. It was very awkward and uncomfortable at the beginning but it went better with the support from Konan —number 1 fangirl in Naruto's opinion; she got them together after all, Nagato —Naruto's cool brother or uncle figure and surprisingly enough Obito who claimed that love is love. Obito never got over Rin and with the henge technique he visited Konoha often to go to Rin's grave.

Konan and Nagato gave Yahiko a proper funeral. It was sad and tears were shed but it was for the better.
They remained best of friends even if rumor had it that something was going in between these two.

Itachi and Naruto overcame that day of torture with a great lot of help. Sasuke's death was still mourned on the day he died. But on normal days they didn't think about it, for both knew Sasuke wanted them happy.

Hikaru and Yuki got together — no surprise there. They have been taking care of Hiro ever since.

Uzushiogakure was rebuilt successfully and was at it's new glory.

They had alliance with many small villages but also bigger one's. Now Uzushiogakure was the third biggest village of the elemental nations. But it was working it's way to top —beyond even Konoha— slowly but surely.
Many orphaned Uzumaki's were found and many of them were adopted. Nagato became the first Uzukage or well in that prospect the third.

The Root anbu had been arrested and possibly killed, secretly believed by the folks that it was Itachi — he may not have shown it but he became protective of his precious people, having doubts since everyone dear to him seemed to die.

Overall, everyone was more or less happy. They were visiting Hiro, Yuki and Hikaru in the Moon country.

It was sweet. There was another festival and it was summer this time.

Sweets were eaten, sake was away before you could even blink, masks and other things were bought and couples kissed occasionally.

Itachi and Naruto were eating cotton candy and occasionally played games for a prize. It was an adorable picture.

"C'mon Itachi! Let's play this!" Naruto pointed at some stand and they played the presented games.

Naruto won Itachi a sharingan plushy and Itachi won Naruto a kyuubi plushy. Both could only snort and then laugh at the irony. Kurama somewhere in Naruto's mind complained about something but Naruto couldn't hear him, his attention was on the ramen stand.
Itachi took notice and led him into it.
They ordered and waited, "I never actually thought I would be able to walk freely as myself anywhere..." Naruto nodded in agreement at Itachi's words, "Yes, rebuilding Uzushiogakure definitely has it's perks."

Their food came, they ate and as the day carried on they had much fun.

It was evening and they sat on a hill again. "This is the hill where everything began..."

"Yeah, kinda true...."

And yes, like in every cliché story, they kissed when the fireworks exploded in the sky.

But that was just fine. It was their story and no one else's. They had one weird relationship based on the hardships they had to live trough.

"Hmmm.... Maybe Nagato wasn't so wrong..." Itachi raised an eyebrow at Naruto's statement.

"I mean, in the end it was really pain that brought us together." Itachi nodded at that but didn't comment further.

"That's pretty fucked up."

"Sigh. Please stop swearing but that is true though."

"Whatever."

"Come on, let's go home."

"Yeah, yeah. I love you too!"

"I never stated that I love you." Itachi tried to keep his voice monotone but a smile escaped him.

"Oi! Don't be such a jerk Uchiha!"

"... Love you too..."

And the whisper carried on for many years.

I know many of you are probably disappointed in the ending. But! Y'all should know I suck at endings and I'm very uncreative right now. To be blunt, I suck, no need to tell me this. Btw, the cover will stay like this for now but if more votes go for another cover then I'll change it. I think. Lmao I maybe forget.
