Here at Arlington

If you don't know, Arlington is Arlington national cemetery. It's the military cemetery in the USA. I wrote this because of a mom I met at Arlington.

A handful of pebbles on a white stone

A small American flag in the ground

Steady stands a young boy as he hugs his mom

As her tears fall down down down

He'll grow up without a dad,

But it'll just make him strong

Brave and wanting to do what's right

With a passion for justice that's lifelong

So he wore the uniform and he took up the gun

Determined to make his country proud

And off he went to war and he fought for his life

He fought for freedom til the day he was struck down

And once again, her tears soak the ground

As a mother cries for her son

He just wanted to be like his dad

And just like him, he ended up, here at Arlington
