Levine's POV

I sit and copy the notes professor Jenkins wrote on the board. Boarding school is not fun. Especially Hence Creek Boarding School with all the rich snobs. I have no friends, no love interests (not that I wanted one), and most importantly—no life.

I sometimes wonder what it's like to be one of those rich snobs that don't have to work for what they get like I do. But then I always remind myself that I'm just Levine Adams the shy girl with a bad stutter, bad anxiety and a sad past.

I bet you're wondering if you're not a rich snob how did you afford going to the school. Well after my dad died in a car accident. My mom got depressed and I got anxiety with a side of panic attacks. We went into layers of debt and my mom didn't want to live like that anymore so we moved in with my rich aunt Dee Hilton and her daughter Stella Hilton in Missouri.

My aunt and my cousin were sweet to me when my mother was her, but then my mother died in a fire at the Eastside Hospital where she worked. That's when the panic attacks happened at first they were quick and easy but now every time one happens it feels like a piece of me dies every time.

And my aunt and cousin weren't helping either. After my mom died it was like a sudden switch that made them angry at me. They started making me work around the house like a servant then they started pushing me around. I didn't like it but what could I do.

I snap myself out of my thoughts and get back to my notes. As the teacher moves on to another lesson the doors open and everyone's head turns to the door, even mine.

In walks Lucas Grey bad boy of Hence Creek High. I watch as girls send flirty looks to him as he just smirks his way to his seat being all high and mighty. I watch him sit down two seats down from me. As if he could feel me watching him he turns and makes direct eye contact with me. I quickly looked away and listened back in on the teacher. But during the rest of the class I couldn't help but feel someone was watching me.

Lucas' POV

I exit the gym pulling my hoodie over my head and adjusting the duffle bag straps on my shoulder. This week's training has been a big pain. Johnson's making us do triple the work we were doing before so we'll be ready for the big championship.

If you haven't noticed yet I'm a boxer. Not at a creepy illegal underground fight club, no I'm the best in the state. I go to a real gym with a real trainer and go to real competitions. I already know I'm the best in the state now we trying to see if I'm the best in the country. Anyways I'm late for school and I know Stressed Out Jenkins is gonna give me crap at the end of class.

I hop on my motorcycle and drive off. This baby right here gets me everywhere. I have a car but I only drive it when my mom wants me to pick up my little brother James.

I park in my original spot and walk in the school. I was headed straight to History when Stella Hilton walks out the bathroom I try to go the other way so she doesn't see me but when a screechy high pitched voice called my name I knew she saw me.

"Lucas! Omg hey where were you this morning I was waiting in the storage room." She says sliding one of her filthy claws on my shoulder I step around her.

"Got to go to class." I mutter speed walking away. Yeah I know what you're thinking, what a player. But Stella was crazy. Begging me all month for it and now that she finally got it, she wants more. I told her I'm not looking for a relationship and it was a one time thing, but she's like that fly that keeps nagging at you and won't go away.

When I walk into Jenkins he sends me a glare as everyone's eyes land on me. I'm use to it. I can't help that I'm sexy. I walk to my seat and catch a curly headed brown girl staring at me. She quickly looks away. I shrug it off.

The bell rings at the end of class and I try to get out as quick as I could.

"Mr. Grey, I'm sure by now you've made up a good reason to be late for my class. And remember you used the sick pet one last time."

Shoot.

"Well you see Jenkins I got a new job and my boss wanted me at work this morning." I said.

I hear a giggle behind me and see the curly headed girl still gathering her stuff listening in on our conversation. I smirk at her and her smile falls replaced with a blank look then she runs out the room.

What is there something in my teeth? I watch her as she leaves.

"Mr.Grey are you listening to me at all!!" The old man's face turns red. I chuckle a little.

"Look sir it won't happen again. I'm gonna leave and you should take a chill pill. Gosh do you look at your wife with that face." I walk out the room closing the door before he could say anything.

Walking to my locker I bump into someone and the small thing falls on the floor. The curly hair catches my attention.

"So-s-sorry. I'm s-so sorry. I-I sw-swear i-it was an a-accident." She stutters out apologies even though she was the only one affected by the crash. Is she like new here or something.

"Hey I'm Lucas Grey." I say after helping her up. She looked kinda surprised, and to be honest I was pretty surprised too. I don't do this introducing stuff. I expect the girl to already know me slip my number in her pocket walk away and expect a couple of calls in the middle of the night for "little Lucas"— If you know what I mean.
(Yes sadly we do😂😂)

"I-I know." She says. Does she always stutter like that? I don't care I'm just glad she already knows who I am.

"Are you new here what's your name?" I say but after a hurt look comes on her face, I immediately regret it.

"My name I-is Le-Levine. A-and n-no I'm not n-new."
