"Where were you on the night of the 21st of January" the lawyer screamed into my face his breath clouding up his glasses.

"At Ani's place," I responded quietly, tapping my fingers against the table I was seated at. The lawyer looked at me with obvious disgust and contempt.

"And how did you meet Ani?" The lawyer continued in his angry manner but I was too busy remembering, much too busy to even notice how the lawyer glared while he waited for me to answer.
A doorbell jingled and I looked up seeing a girl with deep brown eyes and sparkling blue eyes, the light seemed to dance around her as she walked into the cafe. She smiled and went up and bought a coffee before coming over and sliding herself into my booth. "You ok?" she asked.

"U-uhm" I stumbled on my words a bit not really sure what to say in response to her.

"Lio? Lio? Lio!" She shouted.

I blinked in confusion a few times and looked around realizing I was back in the courtroom again. "Hmm?" I mumbled in confusion as the lawyer glared and asked his question again.

"Why were you at Ani's place?"
I sighed knowing where he was going with this, "because she asked me to come over and watch a movie."

"Around what time did you go over there?" the lawyer paced waiting for me to answer him.

"Seven at night I guess" I fidgeted with my fingers waiting for him keep going.

"What time did you call the police?" the lawyer drawled out the sentence, making me a bit nervous.

"I called them at about ten thirty at night." My chest was tight and my cheeks were warm it was starting to get a bit hard to breathe.

The lawyer smirked a bit. "Then why do the official records show that you called the police at eleven at night?"

"I-I must have said it wrong th-that's all I forgot I was under lots of stress...

"Why did you do it?" he said as he stared down at me. " why did you kill her?" he was practically shouting at this point I could feel a light mist of spit on my face from all of his shouting. "Why did you kill Ani!"

I flinched away from the table "I d-didn't-"

"Yes, you did! Tell me why your fingerprints were on the knife then? Why did you kill her!?"

"I didn't mean to kill her" I snapped regretting it almost immediately and cringing into myself.

The lawyer sneered at me in triumph. "No further questions your honor." The lawyer had an evil grin but I didn't see it because all I could see was black.

My heart was racing and I could barely breathe the last thing I remembered was my head hitting the table, but I was soaked with water.

Is this sweat? I thought to myself shivering and exhaling a tiny steam cloud forming around my breath. Seeing that made me sit up.

Where am I? I looked around in confusion and realized with a bit of a start that I was there again. I was outside Ani's house again. Her lights were on and I saw her familiar outline through the blinds. I started to stand up and walk to the door.

Had that all been a dream? What was going on? All these questions raced through my mind as I got near the door. I hesitantly reached my hand out to the doorbell scared of what might happen. I pressed the doorbell and almost instantly Ani came to the door and opened it taking me by the hand and pulling me inside her home.
"Lio!!!" Ani shouted happily and grabbed my other hand dragging me into a dance, our hands, and feet flickering like fire and as suddenly as it started it burned out into just holding each other somewhat awkwardly. Than Ani started to laugh and so did I.

"Again Lio again!" She said giddily.

"Nooooo-" I trailed off a bit still nervous from what had just happened earlier.

Ani smiled "let's go watch the movie." she grabbed my hand and pulled me after her "come on" she playfully pulled at my arm. I gave in after a few tugs forgetting about earlier and relaxing finally.

"Ok." I followed her to the couch where we curled up under a blanket and talked, after a few minutes of the movie I closed my eyes for a bit. I don't know what woke me up or when but I think it might have been the feeling of something being wrong, or the sound of metal rasping. But when I woke there was Ani holding the blade just like before. And just like before I stabbed her, and I held her as her eyes faded and she bled.

"Where were you on the night of the 21st of January?" The lawyer shouted at me.

"At Ani's place" I responded sharply. The lawyer looked at me with obvious disgust and contempt but I didn't care I was tired of this man.

"And how did you meet Ani?" the lawyer asked getting angrier.

"We met at a cafe about two years ago when we were still in college." I drummed my fingers against the table knowing what was coming up.

"Why were you at Ani's house?" His face was fuming red and he was getting angry.

"We were going to watch a movie at seven," I said trying to get this over with as soon as possible my mind racing.

The lawyer glared and loudly asked, "what time did you call the cops?"

"I called them at ten thirty." I was bouncing my foot on the floor in nervous anticipation.

"Then tell me why" the lawyer paused, "the official records state eleven o clock and tell me why your fingerprints were on the knife."
I started to talk but he almost immediately cut me off. "I didn't-"

"Tell me why you killed her, why did you kill Ani." He glared at me and kept shouting "explain why you-"

I cut him off this time "I didn't want to kill her she made me kill her!"
