Roses are red. Its symbolizes passion, extreme desire but also the great danger and madness. It contains all the extreme feelings.
That is why it is given to someone, to whom you are in love with. It is a part where you try to give him your extreme feelings that you are afraid to tell. The things you wanted him to feel. The things you wanted him to know, all wrapped up in that certain rose with red colour.
You know why roses do have thorns? Simply because of my theory. Since you give flower to give your love, you also give him your weaknesses. If he holds it, tightly without any hesitation, then he is willing to take not only the flower. But all the things there is in the flower. All its passion, love, desire, weaknesses, fears, anger, and danger.
If he ignores it, the rose will remain a flower named rose. Its ends will shade darker. The stem together with the thorns becoming more rigid. Stiff. And before the day ends, the petals will wither. It will fall.
And all that is left, is the thorns. Thorns that could hurt someone. The red petals which we knew symbolizes love is gone.
