Chapter 3

It was two days later and I never once stopped thinking about TJ. I even dreamt about him. I barely got any unpacking done at my new dorm because of it. It was almost time for me to leave to Hayden's house an I was really nervous to tell her about what Zeke told me. I don't get why she couldn't have came here. I'd have more time to figure out to tell her and the party is literally right down stairs an I don't have a roommate yet so we'd have the place to ourselves.

I go out into the hallway and start walking but I stop when something catches my eyes. It's a poster saying that all BYU students and staff had to be out if the building by 3:30 so people could start setting up for the party. It's 3:00 now so I'd better start the long drive to Hayden's.

As soon as I get there, I am bombarded with questions about what I have to tell her.

"We'll hello to you too." I say to her as I walk in.

"Yeah yeah hi. Now tell me. Please."

I take a beep breath and think about what I'm going to say.

"Cas?" She says, getting impatient.

"Okay okay. Here goes nothing. I called Zeke yesterday to see of the boys are going to the party. They are. And then he told my something that really shocked me." I pause for a while and when I don't continue, she says

"C'mon now. Continue."

"He told me TJ's had a crush on me since the Logan concert."

I watch as her eyes grow big and them she screams.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! THIS IS WONDERFUL!!! It's about time the truth comes out! It's been so obvious that you guys like each other!"

"What! It has!?"

"Well duh! You think the rest of us can't see you guys glancing at each other all the time?"

"Yeah kind of."

"Well you thought wrong! You guys are the ship of the group!"

All I can do is sit there and smile.

We go into separate rooms to get dressed. I put on a knee length dark blue dress with lace over it and Oxford high heels. When I walk out of the room, Hayden is there wearing light blue skinny jeans and a pink and teal chevron shirt with silver flats. I curl my hair and Hayden puts hers into a bun. We both only put in mascara and we're out the door.

We show up a half an hour early and look for Zeke. We ding him talking with a group of guys and as we get closer, we realise it is Tanner, Ammon, Patch, Zac, and TJ. TJ. I realise something and I stop Hayden and say "If Zeke told me about TJ liking me, did you tell TJ I like him?!"

She nervously looks around and quickly runs over to the boys.

"Hayden!" I shout after her but she doesn't turn around. I catch up just in time to hear

"Dude just tell her. It's only three words." I realise it's Patch whispering to TJ.

TJ slowly looks at me and says

"You look beautiful."

I feel the butterflies start to grow as the other four start whispering.

"Not those three words." Patch protests

"Patch shut up. At least he said something." Ammon argues.

"Guys they can hear us." Tanner tells them.

"Leave him alone. He'll come around." Zac says.

They head inside leaving TJ and I standing alone. I look at him to find that he is smiling at the ground.

"Thanks." I try to say but it comes out as more of a squeak. He looks up and I dart my eyes away from his face and we start walking to the building.
