Epilogue.
ALLY
*Six Months Later*
"Are you absolutely sure that you want to do this?" Luke asked as we headed for the stairwell. He had been asking me this for the last forty five minutes. Obviously I wasn't going to change my mind now.
"Yes!" I cried, frustrated. I threw my hands into the air and turned to face him.
"Ooookay," he trailed off, heading for the kitchen. Claire bounded past him towards me.
"So, you're sure you're ready?"
"Would everyone STOP ASKING ME THAT? GOD!" I screeched, stomping for the front doors.
"Whoa, someone didn't get laid last night!" Claire mumbled, following me through the hallway.
"I DID SO!"
"Breathe Ally," Emily sighed, leaving the living room sofa to join us. I jabbed a finger at the date on the calendar before us. It was circled in pen repeatedly, and then again in blood red sharpie as though someone panicked repeatedly when they saw it coming closer.
That someone was Luke.
It wasn't like we'd forget today, oh no. I'd be the last person to remember this.
Luke probably would forget either. Well, not on purpose. He came close to forgetting about his bachelor party at one point.
No, we were not married.
We were almost there though. Engaged. Six months exactly, since the day Michael's mate tried to kill me, and Luke saved me.
I guess I couldn't be the hero all the time.
Luke took great happiness in finally being the one to save me; not that he hadn't before. He saved me from Michael in the beginning, he saved me from being alone. He saved me from me.
I loved him with all of my heart.
It was nice to know that the feeling was reciprocated.
The second Alice had left the room, I was ordered to marry him.
Yes, he legitimately ordered me. He said, and I quote; "I am not having a kid without being married to his Mommy, and I really want to follow the motions that could lead to pregnancy right now. So you're marrying me, and then I won't feel so bad".
He was so romantic.
It took a bit of goading, but he finally convinced me. He technically had me from 'mommy' but I wasn't going to let him get away with that sort of proposal.
I made him get on his knees and beg.
A pleasing sight, I tell you.
So yes, we were about a month and three weeks away from the day of the wedding, and we were all a bunch of nerves. Why?
The doorbell rang quietly.
That's why. I took a deep breath, and reached for the door handle.
"Hi Mom. Hi Dad."
