The Meeting

Part 1

“How....... surprising,” China said as she read the email. It was not what she expected, especially since this person, this one person , with lots of power and money had no idea that right under his stupid little nose, was a city with a mage, not Grand but Supreme, much more powerful than himself. He thought he was “The One” when he was sooo wrong. He doesn't know anything about everything ......... until now. Luckily, she knew just who to call

“SKULDUGGERY!!!” Valkyrie shouted, halfway up the stairway. I'm gonna kill him she thought. And she didn't even have Darquesse influencing her. Its been weeks since Valkyrie became a detective again. But so far they didn't have much progress with the current Abyssinia case. So most of the time they, the Arbiter Corps, were doing nothing. Just a fee hours ago Skulduggery came knocking. This was how the lovely conversation went:
“Good morning Valkyrie, how are you?” asked Skulduggery
“Morning. I'm fine -” Valkyrie replied
“Good for you,” Skulduggery interrupted “Anyway, why did I come here. Of course. I'm bored. ”
Valkyrie stared
Skulduggery tilted his head
“You came here because you're bored?” She said
“Yes, may I come in?”
“ You came here because you're bored ”She repeated
“Yes, you mentioned that already. May I come in?”
“You would've stayed home, but you were bored?”
“Yes Valkyrie. You've said it three times already and you've still haven't processed the fact. So if you need to go over your wits, at least step aside so I can go inside or we'll stand here whole morning until you realise that the moment I knocked on this door you should've let me in, because as I said, I am bored”
Valkyrie rolled her eyes and walked inside.
Skulduggery followed and sat on the couch. So, now that I'm inside I'll tell you why I'm here. ” he said
Valkyrie glared at him. “I thought you came here here because you're bored. ”
Skulduggery chuckled “Of course not Valkyrie,now that would just be silly. ”
Valkyrie continued glaring at him and sat down across from him “So, why are you really  here?” She asked
“Unfortunately, I've gotten a call requesting my presence and -” he stopped and listened. Xena bounded down the stairs, about to jump on Skulduggery when he blocked himself with a wall of air hitting the poor dog unconscious. He froze and slowly looked up at Valkyrie ...............
She had a murderous look on her face.
“Valkyrie, you must understand this is one of my best suits and I couldn't let it get dirty. Its shedding season, by the way -”
Valkyrie lunged for him, but he dodged and ran up the stairs. “Skulduggery!!!!” Valkyrie shouted. She found him in the guest room, dusting of his hat and straightening his tie. He saw her in the doorway and she knew if he had a face he would've been smiling.
“Valkyrie, you amuse me,” He said shaking his head
“You're lucky you don't have a face,” She muttered
“Excuse me?”He asked
“Mmh?”Valkyrie said “I didn't say anything,”
Skulduggery put his hands on his hips.
“Your mad at me,”
“Yes,”
“Because?”
She stared at him
He hesitated
“Oh was it because I hurt Xena?”
She continued staring at him
“I'll take that as a yes ,”He said, and headed down the stairs
Valkyrie sighed. It was tiring being his friend
