A/N: so this chapter is really fucking long I'm sorry, I wrote this ages ago and I think I must've forgot to break it up into chapters. But anyway. Hope u like it!
The train was insanely humid and completely packed. The heat was made worse by the fact that it was freezing outside, so everyone was wearing big coats, hats and scarves and didn't have room to take them off because of how busy it was. I moved closer to the door of the train as a group of 7 identical businessmen barged on.
"Only one more stop and then I'm locking myself in for the weekend," I thought.
~ The next stop is: Bethnal Green ~
I quickly manoeuvred myself off the train and onto the platform and sighed with relief. Home time.
I made my way up the stairs of the station as quickly as I could, darted through the ticket machine and stepped out into the freezing November air. My phone buzzed as I finally had service and I pulled it out from my pocket.
~ 6 missed calls from: Anna 💘 ~
Fuck sake.
I rang her back and she picked up instantly.
"Hello?"
"Hey, you rang me six times?"
"Yeah. So what are you doing tonight?"
"I literally told you 20 minutes ago that I'm doing nothing. I'm exhausted and I wanna go home,"
"Wrong answer. It's Charlotte's birthday and there's a really cute pub near her flat that we're all going to,"
"Charlotte Patmore? I'm pretty sure she hates me. And even if she doesn't, I'm not going,"
"She invited you! And please don't be boring it's a Friday night,"
"Anna I said no,"
"She's invited LOADS of people from the music industry. You can network!"
I paused for a second.
"Y/N...?"
"Send me the address and I'll be there as soon as I can. I hate you,"
"Yay! Love you, see you in twenty!"
-
I pushed open the door of the pub and made my way inside. The tiny building was packed, mostly with people my age who I presumed to be Charlotte's mates. I felt a sudden panic run through me as I looked around and couldn't see Anna, but then my eyes landed on the ladies toilets and I headed towards them. Once inside I stared at myself in the full length mirror. I was wearing a black turtle neck, a vintage suit, a pair of buffalos and a black beret. In my apartment I thought it had looked amazing but now I was worried the ensemble looked way too try-hard. Just as I was beginning to panic, one of the cubicle doors burst open and out came Anna.
"Y/N! Oh my god!" She wrapped her arms around me, nearly knocking me to the ground.
She pushed me away from her and held me at arms length, looking me up and down.
"Stunning, as usual," she said, before letting go of me and turning to look at her own reflection.
I couldn't help but notice the small ring of white powder around her left nostril and giggle a bit.
"What are you laughing at? Do I look fat?"
"No, you look fucked. I need a drink man," I laughed, moving towards the toilet door.
I was heading towards the bar when Anna grabbed me and pulled me the other way.
"What are you doing? I seriously need a drink,"
