||CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN // SHORT REUNION||
Dakota, sitting at the kitchen table doing her homework, smiles when she hears Bobby say Sam's name over the phone. She knows that they've been calling a lot more recently, but Bobby wouldn't say anything to her.
"Hey, Dakota?" Bobby calls, walking into the kitchen with the phone pressed against his ear. She looks up at him and lays her pencil down, waiting for him to continue. "I have to go help out with your uncle for a little bit, I'm gonna drop you off with a friend of mine."
"C-can I go?" She asks nervously, glancing down at her books. "I'll bring my homework and everything, I promise. Please, I miss Sammy." She clasps her hands together and places them under her chin pleadingly.
Bobby looks conflicted before he murmurs something into the phone, waiting a couple seconds before sighing.
"Okay, grab your book bag and lets go, hurry." Bobby relents, Dakota squeals happily and races to grab her bag.
She shoves her books into the bag quickly, grabbing Bobby's hand and practically pulling him to the car. She climbs into the backseat, bouncing both with nerves and excitement.

Bobby parks a little ways behind the Impala outside of the saw mill. Dakota throws the back door open and sprints out.
"Sammy!" She shouts, jumping and colliding with his body, he groans and stumbles back a couple steps while catching her.
"Howdy, Sam." Bobby greets while Sam picks up Dakota and hugs her tightly, her arms looping around his neck while her face buries in his neck.
"Hey, bug, I missed you." Sam murmurs quietly. "Hey, Bobby. Thanks for coming up so quick."
"Where's Dean?" Bobby questions once he reaches Sam. Dakota clings to her uncle tightly, having missed him in the couple weeks she's been with Bobby.
"Uh..." Sam trails, chuckling nervously. Dakota pulls back, her eyes wide and full of concern. "Home sick." He continues, sliding onto the Impala's hood with Dakota in his lap.
Dean might of left her with Bobby, but that didn't mean she didn't care about him still. She loves and misses him, despite feeling abandoned by him.
"Is he okay?" Dakota asks nervously, her fingers playing with the collar of Sam's shirt idly.
Bobby presses Sam into explaining what's really wrong with Dean. Apparently, the ghost they're hunting infects it's victims with a sickness that makes them scared of everything, they start hallucinating and eventually have a heart-attack from the fear.
"So, have his hallucinations started yet?" Bobby asks, leaning against the Impala next to Sam.
"Yeah, a few hours ago." Sam confirms.
