I'm in an interview room similar to the ones on cop shows. The chair I'm sitting in is cold on my butt but, warms up in time. A guy in a beige coat over a blue suit comes in. "Hi, I'm Detective Don Pines. The guy investigating your sister's murder." At the word 'murder' I tense up. "So, tell me what happened that night?" Don said.
"We were walking through the woods, trying to clear our heads from the stress of school." I said. I know I'm lying about that. I really brought her there to tell her I found a rare owl. "She wandered off when I wasn't looking and, as soon as I noticed I panicked." I said. I began feeling tense as Don looks unconvinced. "I ran through the woods calling her name. That's when I found...." I sniffled trying not to lose it.
Don shakes his head. "I know you're lying kid. Tell me what really happened that night."
"It's the truth."
"Oh really? Explain to me how we found a rock band T-shirt and jeans in your size next to a bloody knife?"
I can't take it anymore. "IT WAS ME! I KILLED HER! I KILLED MY LITTLE SISTER, TERESA!"
