Caleb sprints towards his front door, ignoring the sharp pain of glass digging into the flesh of his feet. His heart pounds through his ears as he quickly tries to turn the doorknob, fumbling desperately with his blood-soaked hands.

Right as he breathes a sigh of relief, finally managing to get a grip on the nob, the large man appears and grabs Caleb by the collar of his shirt. The man lifts Caleb's 5'9" frame as if he weighs nothing and tosses him into the glass covered living room.

Caleb tries to scream, but it only comes out as a muffled squeak, as the duct tape covering his mouth is preventing any sound to come through and out into the open.

His once white and soft carpet is now covered in shards of glass from his coffee table and his own deep red blood. Caleb can't help the tears from falling as he feels every shard digging into his skin, seeing the man approach as he tries to scramble away.

He can't make out anything specific about the man, as his vision is starting to blur from his own tears and wavering unconsciousness. Before Caleb can start to move or wiggle away further, the man draws out a dagger longer than his own forearm.

Caleb's blue eyes widen and let out a whimper as the dagger is plunged into his chest, the pain unbearable. The large man smiles, his lips stretching from ear to ear, his teeth gleaming in the night as he watches the light from Caleb's eyes slowly drift away and glaze over.

Caleb's chest stops moving as the man starts to rise. He doesn't try to clean anything or try to hide that he was here, the man knows he won't get caught, and this is only the beginning.
