The Concert

It's 6am and the alarm rings. Sarah immediately shoots out of her bed, exited for the day. Today, she has her first concert at school. She has to perform together with her friend, Lizzy. The concert is actually meant for the older grades, but Sarah and Lizzy got asked to perform because they loved to do it, and the people liked to see some younger girls being all happy and singing on the stage. The general repetitions are 6pm and the concert begins at 8pm. Together with Lizzy, she decided to practice a few more times before the general repetitions because also there, there were people taking a sneak peak.

It is 10am and the bell rings. Sarah is confused. Lizzy said, she would not be able to come over until 12am. When she opens the door, Aaron is standing in front in the door opening.
"hey" he says. "I really enjoyed last night and I thought, I just had to thank you for being so nice to me".

"I guess that was not hard for me", I say and I laugh.

"well", Aaron begins, "there's something that I think you might want to know".

With a wondering face I ask:"why, is there something wrong?".

"eh, it's not a bad thing I swear! It's just, my real name is not Aaron Ross, it's Aaron Adams", he says.

"But, why?", I ask. while I'm not so sure if that's not a weird question.

"it's my parents, they are not my real parents. When I was 8 years old, I was adopted by the Ross family. They cared for me, more than my real parents apperantly". Than he stops talking because he gets too emotional and doesn't want to cry because that's not cool according to him.
I think it's kinda cute when boys cry. It means that they really care about something.

"well I don't think your parents hate you", I say. "I just think they thought the Ross family would have more time to care for you in the right way".
He puts up an understanding face and stands up.
"well, I don't want to bother you so I guess I'll go home then", Aaron says. I say he is not bothering me at all and if he wants to talk to me, he is welcome at any time. Than he thanks me and walkes away.

A couple of hours later, Lizzy arrives. She brought her guitar with her and has a big smile on her face. She says that she stayed up all night to practice the guitar solo because she thinks it is an 'epic' guitar piece that she just has to play. We practice a few more hours and decide to go to school. There, the general repetitions already started. Miss Bernstein walks up to us and asks us if we are ready to play the song already on stage, in front of the other people. We both nodd and say yes. And there we went upon the stage. Nervous as two little birds who try to fly for the first time in their life. But the most important thing is, we did it!
