Ships don't sink because of the water around them. Ships sink because of the water that gets in them. Don't let what's happening around you get in you and weigh you down. -Michelle.

Spencer's POV

To say that Aurora was independent seemed to not explain her enough. If I offered help in my own way she would bat me off and start shouting in German as she found a way to do it herself. To begin with, I found the whole ordeal awful but as time passed my petty annoyance turned into humour as she was so adamant. When I found the joy all of me wanted to try to help her as much as I was able to. Just for her reaction as she grew to be more and more irritated. Still, I did not take the whole situation badly.

My hand was up against the glass as I hoped to free myself. Countless objects both dull and sharp surrounded me. As I huffed and let my hands cup my face I heard an odd noise from the door. I turned and saw a sad and also smug Aurora. I smiled up at her but her body moved towards me and then her hands helped me up. As I went to pull from her she kept holding tightly. Her body ran and I was forced to keep up as she showed me into the living room. As I went to try a form of question she drew back the heavy curtain and one scratch was seen. Aurora had been more successful than I had but the actions told me to give up.

"Aurora I ca..." I had to stop when a van was pulling up. My heart hoped that it was my team but I was wrong. The couple had come back after a few days. Aurora moved to the kitchen and began to furiously clean after me. The tools were shoved away and when the clang of metal was heard I went to run but the man stopped me. His arms were too strong.

"Upstairs." His hand moved to the steps and I wasn't sure if it was meant for me or not but the faint glimpse of Aurora in the small kitchen stopped that thought. She ran up the steps in a pretty black dress and black sports socks. Her hair was well prepared and my eyes stuck to her. She ran so quickly that I was sure she should have tripped but the long legs managed it.

"Aurora was like you when she first got here and we have forced that out of her. Now she is a good little girl who stays well away from the door. You will learn it in time and year after year. Lots of them." The woman was like a snake as her tongue caressed the evil words. I sharpened a glare at her and she knew I was determined.

"Oh please. Aurora was more set than you are. She was crying, kicking and screaming for the first three years. She ran at the door and windows. Knocked herself out a few of the times. She still learnt." His husky voice sent me to my thoughts as they climbed up the steps.

"German. She speaks German and what are you doing in there?" They didn't even stop to think about me as they climbed the steps and then the door was opened with a loud clang. My feet climbed the steps and I soon landed on my bed. My hand rested on my hair as my eyes studied the ceiling for as long as I could.

An hour after the three had entered the odd room they all left. My eyes caught the sight of running mascara and smudged makeup when Aurora left the room. I got to my feet in a second and walked into the room next to my own. I stood at the doorframe and let my eyes watch her as she sat on her bed with her back to the door and she was able to look out the window. Her legs were right beneath her and her arms were folded awkwardly so that her hands were in the other. When the front door closed her head bowed and sobs were heard. The pale hands were lifted to her face and she let the tears fall freely.

Her shoulders shook as her cries became a little louder. I moved towards her and let my body perch on the edge of her bed. She jumped and looked ready to run but as her eyes caught mine she relaxed. Hands wiped at the mascara again but I pulled them down and I wiped it with my thumb. All I had wanted to do was help but she wouldn't or couldn't understand a single word I spoke to her.
