"What's A Hood?"

It was noon when Grace found Two-Bit at the Dingo again. “Hey Grace” Two-Bit said happily. He hadn’t been able to stop thinking about her and her frigging smile last night while he was with the boys. He really liked her and she seemed nice. “You ready to see the town?” he asked. “I guess” Grace said quietly. She almost hadn’t come today because of her run in with Kathy, but Two-Bit seemed alright and she really wanted to see the town. “What’s wrong” Two-Bit asked “You seem sad” “Well …” Grace said, “I ran into your girlfriend yesterday and she seemed mad that you were talking to me and she kinda scared me” Grace rushed. “Kathy?” Two-Bit asked. Grace nodded. “We went on one date a month or so ago, but were not dating. She was too boring for me” Two-Bit said “and she didn’t like Mickey” He said with a smirk. “Well, I do like Mickey as you know so we’ll get along fine.” Grace said smiling. “Hey hood! Got your self a pretty girl there don’t ya?” said a boy in a bright blue Cadillac. “Just keep walking” Two-Bit whispered to Grace. They walked for a while before they lost them. “Who were they?

What’s a hood?” Grace said. She had been so scared. “They are what we call Socs” “Socs?” “Yeah, rich kids from the other side of town.” “Oh, okay. What’s a hood?” “A hood is Kathy’s brother. Now he’s a hood. Man, he’s so greasy he glides when he walks. He goes to barber shop for an oil change, not a haircut.” Two-Bit stated matter-of-factly. Grace just laughed. “What? It’s true” Two-Bit said confused. “I know it probably is …. It’s just so funny” Grace said through gasps of breath. “Well, we should probably get back to your tour of this place huh?” Two-Bit said after Grace stopped laughing. “Yeah, that’d be nice” Grace said. Just like you Grace thought as her and Two-Bit grinned at each other.

 

Two-Bit and Grace had toured the whole community, getting yelled at to get off peoples property and laughing the whole time. “This was great. We should  hang out more” Grace said You idiot, he’s gonna think you’re obsessed with him now. Did she just say she enjoyed spending time with me? Two-Bit thought happily. “Yeah definitely” Two-Bit said, playing it cool. "Well I gotta go back to my friends house now, but i'll meet ya again tomorrow?" Two-Bit said, glancing at Grace. "Sure! Same place?" she said. "Of course" he smiled. "See ya!" They hollered at each other as they walked in opposite directions. Wait till the guys hear this Two-Bit thought
