Laughter
Echoing in my ears
Can't drown it out
Can't succumb to it
Just...
Listless
Malicious
Is the easiest word
To describe the light
In some people's eyes
The hunger that is...
Insatiable
Those smiles
That grin on the darkness
Of their heart
A single thought
Brought to life
Terror
Pain
That throbbing ache
Pulsing every time
You meet my eyes
Leaving me
Forlorn
If you promise
To stop haunting my
Hope and dreams
Leave me alone
In my sorrow
And bitterness
Farewell, and do not grieve, for in this life, many leave.
