The minute I heard his heart beat steady in my ear, I let out the breath I didn't know I had been holding and bid a due to any doubts I had about this being real. The minute I felt a tear fall to my head and his hand clutch mine tighter than before I fathomed that my love for him had never succumbed.
"I see you. Jisung-ah."
The only words I could manage. Although my head was materialising endless responses, confident and broad. I was lost for words at that moment. I was in his arms again as if he had never let me go, as if we had never said goodbye, and the likelihood of the seasons we spent apart having been just a bad dream became heavier as I breathed him in. He hadn't changed even in the slightest. His face was still soft and squirrel-like, his hair still fell faultlessly parting just off the centre of his forehead, his inky eyes still contrasted his blonde skin and ruddy lips and his smell.. his smell, still fresh and clean and reminiscent of eucalyptus and the colour blue.
I tried pushing back so that I could see his face, I craved seeing his smile again, it was a smile that tugged at the corners of his lips and revealed a fraction of his gums, it was a smile that sun could reflect off of, a smile that could cure demise. But he only pulled me closer to him if at all possible and let go of my hand to wrap his arm securely around my waist. I gave up but said...
"I'm not going anywhere jisungie. I'm staying right here."
He hugged tighter still for a second or two and then released me (still grasping my shoulders) and smiled. There it was, the only smile I ever wanted to see for as long as I lived. The smile of Han Jisung.
The words that left his mouth next where the words I had been dreaming of since the moment we last said goodbye.
"I have been looking for you everywhere Y/N."
