He just graduated college a year ago, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. About three weeks before the day of the incident, he lost his job due to cuts.
Now three weeks since his job loss, Danny didn't have any job opportunities because of either over qualifications or the lack of being needed with his degree. Daniel Mcarthur, age twenty-five, was starving and disoriented. Danny was a good child growing up; he never thought of doing one dark, bad, or evil deed. However, he had been pushed to his limits; he hadn't eaten or drank for a substantial amount of time, this could lead to illness.
He was standing in line at Rita's, a local restaurant in North Las Vegas. Danny had been given five dollars from a woman after holding up a need food sign in front of his old apartment building. Some of Lucianos boys arrived, they were lowlife thugs who worked for the notorious family. The owners of Rita's had recently lost the capability to pay their taxes, let alone food for the community. So to continue helping people they borrowed money from the Luciano's. The owners failed to pay the Lucianos on time. To express their dominance, the Lucianos were going to make an example out of Rita's for other businesses in debt. They did so by periodically snatching up patrons, torturing them, and then leaving them at random destinations. In some cases certain patrons ended up not arriving at any destination; they were just gone.
Danny, who had just made his order, walked casually to the restroom unexpecting the upcoming traumatic event. Upon entering the restroom, Danny was grabbed by his hoodie and slammed against the wall by one of the Luciano boys. He was large, bald, and had a petrifying aura. He was no Al Pacino.
"AHHHHHHH..." Danny screamed being punched repeatedly in the stomach. He started to cough up blood. He fell into the corner furthest from the door, and he realized that even in his tired state he wasn't going to take this abuse any longer. The Luciano's crony turned his back to what was seemed like a miracle, which was the door being blown open by a gust of wind. Danny quickly pulled his thin body out of the corner and jumped on his predator's back, wrapping his arms around his neck, and pulling his weight down in an attempt to incapacitate the thug. Danny' attempts proved to be futile when the man slammed him against the wall, causing him to release his grip falling to the ground. The man was now hovering over Danny.
Danny, still trying to escape, kicked the man in between his legs. This hurt the man, but his pain made him even angrier. He pulled a Glock 19 from his jacket. Danny seeing this screamed, "Help!" Loudly. Annoyed by Danny's attempt to get help the man slammed his gun over Danny's small head.
When Danny regained consciousness he was lying on the floor of a black Cadillac Escalade; it's seated had been folded into the car to make room for Danny's limp body. There were now two men sitting in the front seat's. Next to Danny was a wrinkled police uniform. The corruption of the law enforcement in las vegas was starting to increase with the infiltration of gang member's into the police force.
Danny slowly pushed himself off the ground without realizing where he was, all he knew was that they were moving and he needed to get out. They were on their way to the outskirts of North Las Vegas. The vehicle stopped, they were at a gas station. They both thought Danny was still unconscious, so one went inside for the restroom while one was acquiring gas. Danny carefully crawled closer to the front. After finishing the second thug also went into the gas station. Danny took this opportunity, seeing that he was too far out of town to walk, and luckily for him, they left their keys on the floor. Danny's bent down for the keys, when he came up both of the men were halfway to the car. Danny tried to insert the keys into the ignition; they were at the doors. Danny promptly pressed the lock all button, delaying their infiltration. Danny finally put the key in the ignition as the window broke with a gun. Danny turned the key and pressed on the gas, the man's arm was ripped from the window. Both Danny and the thug were bleeding.
