"Friday, February 4th, 2007 7:47 A.M. This Is Detective Andrew Sanders, and yesterday I was given orders from my boss to keep Detective Felicity Ambers, or sorry Mrs Ambers In protective care for the next few weeks, I haven't told her that, just the fact that she could stay with me until all of this nonsense clears up. I am being transferred a little farther south in the state, which means I'll be moving once again here in the next month or two. I thought that they were going to keep me but they just brought me down for the case help rather. This new police department looks nice and they have promised me a spot and help with moving my belongings. It's not as far as I moved last time but I'll still be a hassle to get everything back the way it should be. Ambers refused to be alone because she couldn't handle that with the hell that she has been through. She said that whether I liked it or not she would be coming with me."
I woke up to see Felicity cuddled up next to me, she had her head laying on my chest and her leg was lifted on top of mine. I smiled a little and then closed my eyes again thinking about the fact that we needed to pack boxes as soon as we could but I didn't want to wake her up. She started to move rustle around in her sleep so I knew would be waking up pretty soon. I opened my eyes and looked out the window to see the bright blue sky with barely any clouds. Just as I looked down Felicity looked up with a little grin.
"Good morning sunshine," she said while giving a little stretch. I smiled even wider.
"Good morning," I responded trying not to seem as giddy as I was. She rolled over and got out of bed quickly. She smiled at me as she left the room and then I saw her light blue fuzzy socks in the kitchen walking back and forth. I laid there for a moment with the thoughts of how lucky I was zooming through my head. I stood up and started walking to the dresser. I changed into sweatpants and a blue shirt then walked into the kitchen. She had two plates and silverware sitting at the table and brought the pan over putting bacon and eggs on each plate. She placed the pan into the sink and walked over to the table sitting down smiling. I walked over sitting at the other plate and started eating.
"How did you go from starting a fire to cooking breakfast with no issues?" asked while laughing. She rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Even master chefs have their mistakes sometimes,"She said cocking an eyebrow. I nodded holding in my laughter and kept eating. When we both finished I grabbed the plates and did the dishes while she walked over to the linen closet to grab all of the boxes that I shoved in there hoping they would fit that way packing would be easier. After she grabbed the boxes she laid them on the floor and walked over to the counter grabbing a piece of tape then heading into the guest bedroom.
As soon as the dishes were cleaned and dried off, I walked around the house trying to find the tape that got lost within the five minutes of it being open, it wasn't on the counter anymore and I was drawing a blank on where it could be. I walked down the stairs hoping it would be there but I found nothing. I felt so lazy that I didn't want to walk all the way back up the stairs. I realized Felicity was up there so I decided to yell and see if she swiped it.
"FELICITY? WHERE IS THE TAPE THAT I HANDED YOU A FEW MINUTES AGO?"
"YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY TAPE ANDREW!" she yelled back down instantly.
"WELL... DID YOU TAKE ANY OF THE TAPE FROM DOWNSTAIRS?"
"MAYBE...."
"CAN YOU BRING IT BACK TO ME?" I yelled to her because I didn't feel like going to grab it myself. But also knowing that I put something next to the tape as a surprise just because.
"ANDREW YOU LITTLE SHIT, YOU ARE SO SWEET," she yelled as she sprinted up the stairs with a teddy bear wearing a shirt that has a picture of us together. She jumped into my arms and kissed me on the cheek. We spent the rest of the day loading the truck and preparing to drive to the new apartment that we would be staying at. We walked up the stairs to take one last look before we left. We admired each room and before we could leave the house phone started to ring. Felicity looked at me as if telling me to answer the phone but I ignored it. It was an unknown number and that means it is probably one of those people who call to say that you won a cruise then ask you for your credit card numbers to scam you. Because of those reasons and I was also thinking that nothing could be more important than what I'm doing right now, so I ignored the call. I just wanted to furthering my life and answering a scam call wouldn't further my life. It would waste probably an hour of my time because I would yell at them until they hung up. The second call came over the my personal phone with the same number, I picked it up hoping for a just a random telemarketer that got lucky with numbers.
"Detective Andrew Sanders speaking," I said knowing if it were a scammer they would instantly hang up the phone because I am a detective.
"We heard word that Jamie has been around your apartment complex, you guys need to leave now," the sergeant said sounding more worried than I had ever heard him during the whole case that we had been working.
"Also I would recommend either not telling her because if you do, I don't know what kind of shock she will go into or if it is something that would make her panicky. Actually you should tell her, maybe she will come back onto the force to catch her and possible stay on..." I hung up the phone and took a moment to consider my actions.
" HEY FELICITY?....CAN YOU COME HERE A MINUTE?"
