System Of A Mage

Chapter 1- Magic's Background

Mages have a very obtrusive field. After all sometimes it isn't as simple as pointing your hand at an object and screaming "Fireball" as loud as you can. In a certain world that was similar to earth they first discovered magic during a period similar to what we know as today the Medieval Ages. During this time of life a man who loved to draw many different random shapes as well as geometrical shapes accidentally discovered a strange symbol that when drew glowed. Studying the strange thing he noticed the light took about half a day to go out.

This was known as the establishment of the first Magical Enchantment. Today the symbol is known as the MIS or also known as the Magical Introduction Symbol due to it's purpose. It would create a small amount of mana out of seemingly nothingness. From this moment on the world started experiencing many strange phenomena.

At first it started with insects. They suddenly started growing larger using a strange energy now found in there bodies to support themselves. These Neo Ants Cast away the needs of a supporting system as they gained magic. In fact many small creatures that used to use supporting systems lost them.

The next large change occurred when birds started to gain the ability to harden feathers to be just as sharp as steel. All of a sudden many bird species became extremely dangerous. Especially funnily enough chickens since they were already to far into society's structure. This event became know as the Roosters Crow.

Now the world was in a panic as it realized truly that the whole world was changing it's structure. Religion went into an all time high as a way to explain everything, and many people looked towards these people for protection. Crime has also ironically decreased in a result to the increase of religion proving the statement that you don't know the value of something until you have lost it.

The next calamity was the establishment of the Mana Beast System. Now not just a couple of types of mutated animals were alive. No; every single animal alive had evolved, and with the evolution's of the old beasts new beasts were discovered. Everyday during these times thousands of breeds could be discovered across this world.

The fourth wave of calamity separated the world. Originally the world was about the same size as earth; but after the ground cracked open, and lava flooded out aided by Mana which allowed it to cool extremely fast the planet grew. Once it had stopped growing the planet was now at least a million times larger than before, and because of the primitive technology of the people many were separated from each other never to see each other again. This lead to large scale grief as the world mourned believing each independent group to be dead.

The Fifth wave of calamity occurred when beasts started to gain the ability to sense fear. Now if a person had extreme fear towards something they could draw in beast from all around. Thankfully there appeared to be a 10 mile limit to this. Now large cities were ironically the least safe place, and as such most groups ran from cities establishing small towns around the world.

The sixth stage of what ever evil was going around enhanced disease. Thankfully this wasn't permanently, but while it was enhanced around a quarter of all people died. The Positive of this whole thing was that after it's temporary worsening the diseases finally all disappeared creating a disease free world. This historical change enabled this calamity to be given the name of God's Judgement.

The final Stage was a positive one, and this was when the human race had finally gained the ability to harness magic. This revolutionary concept once more brought people back together, but now with the nobles being people who were the most powerful people in there area. The world had once more reached a medieval style world, but this time one which included Magic.
