There once lived a girl with long silky brown hair. She wasn't a normal girl, no, in fact, she possessed a tail. A tail that would send her anywhere in the water. She lived in water, but she found humans quite fascinating. She loved to study their culture, and visited the surface quite often to watch them move with their two legs. Today, was like any other day for the girl. Her light blue tail flicked every so often as she swam to the surface.

Once she made it above water, she looked out among the beach. Nobody was to be seen, so she swam ahead, touching the warm sand carefully. But as soon as she had made it, she heard voices. She immediately dove back into the water and swam a few yards ahead, away from the shore.

A boy with ocean blue hair walked down from the parking lot and onto the sand. He could have sworn he heard splashing, so he came to find out what the sound was. He believed there was a stray fish stuck on a clump of rocks and intended to find it. He made it to the water line and looked out onto the clear blue water. The ocean seemed to be specifically calm today, even though it was cloudy and damp. He looked ahead and jumped back as he fish landed at his feet. He looked ahead curiously as what seemed like a fish drew closer. But what he saw, became larger as it approached. His eyes grew as a girl's head poked out from the water. She looked at him curiously and his mouth hung. "Your scared." She said simply. "N-no.. what are you?" He asked as he crouched down to get a better look at her. She backed up instantly. "No, wait! I didn't mean to scare you." He said, scared she would swim away. "Ethan!" They both heard a man's voice shout. She shyed away. "Your name is Ethan?" She asked. He nodded.

"Who are you, and what are you?" He asked. She smiled before swimming closer. She picked the fish up and set it back down in the water. It swam away and she giggled softly. "My name is Jade." She told him. "Ethan!" The voice called again. Her eyes widened and she got closer, making Ethan fall back. "You must not speak of me! Please, I beg you." She pleaded. He nodded. "I won't." He promised. "Thank you. Return here tomorrow." She told him. She turned and dove into the water, letting Ethan catch a glimpse of her tail. "Ethan, come on! We can't be late!" Ethan's brother called. "I'm coming Andrew!" Ethan shouted as he stood up. He ran back up the beach and turned last minute to see her waving. He waved back before climbing into his brother's car.

Jade dove back into the ocean and grabbed her bag, quickly swimming away. A smile was plastered on her face as her tail swished behind her. This was definitely a tale to be told.
