1 week later...
I woke up with a start. I could feel something rushing up my throat. I ran to the bathroom and threw up into the toilet. I hear Peeta rise from the bed and rush to the bathroom. He quickly grabbed a hair tie and tied my hair up. He rubs my back. "Katniss, are you okay?" he asks, sounding a bit dumb. "I'm fine. But it's been like this for a week now." Peeta sighs. "Wait, Katniss, remember when we, you know." said Peeta. I felt like he was onto something. I wait a second. "Peeta, I'm going to get dressed. You get ready and meet me in the car." Peeta raises an eyebrow. "Just do it." I say firmly.
I slip on a grey shirt and some leggings. I pull on my boots and grab my jacket. I stumble to the car, and open the door. I sit in the driver's seat. I put the keys in and twist them. The car starts, I honk the horn. Peeta comes rushing out with his jacket half way on. I giggle a little. He gets into the car. As soon as the door shut, the car was pulling out of the driveway. I speed to the nearest drug store. I park the car and dash into the store. I scan the aisles. I see it. I purchase three pregnancy tests and a big jug of Sunny D. I go to the cashier and pay for my things. As soon as I'm done. I start to chug the Sunny D. Peeta looks at me weird when I get into the car. He takes the bag from and digs through it. He picks up one of my pregnancy tests. By then we're already home.
I bust through the door and rush to the bathroom. I set the bottle of Sunny D on the counter. I go ahead and take one of the tests. 3 minutes Katniss, that's all. I paced around the bathroom over and over again. My three minutes were over. Positive. I cringe a little. Then I gulp down some more Sunny D, then take the second test. Another three minutes of pacing, I read the result. Negative. I knew this could happen so I took the Sunny D and chugged the rest of it. I take the third and final test. I wait three more minutes. Then read the result. Positive.
