FELIX
I went inside of the building. like all other things here in London finer districts, this was over the top. the hallway was huge and in white, there was columns holding the high sealing up artistically and stairs at the sides of the room leading to what I suspected was the office area. from the high sealing there was huge Crystal chandeliers hanging giving the extra light to the room. not that it needed light at the moment. the huge windows gave enough of it for there to be an luxurious feel to the room.
In the middle of the room was the reception desk, a young slightly older then myself stood there., skimming trough what looked to be a ledger. at the side of the room tables and book cases stood, being used by different people on their business. well there was no day like today might as well get the hole thing started and get to meet Ms willsbourgh. I went up confidently to the reception desk, clearing my thought to get the mans attention. he looked up at me politely even though I obviously wasn't his usual clientele. I probably looked a bit rugged compared to the pampered peacocks of nobles around me. yet I wasn't really out of place either, I had to much high quality clothes on and to clean shaved to be perceived as rugged. I steeped in front of the desk drawing the attention of the receptionist
-G'day sir, my names Felix Carlton, a Mr Meacy is expecting me. the man looked back into his lodger and back up.
-ah yes, F. Carlton, your suppose to meet whit Mr Meacy and Lord Willsbourgh. if you would wait a minute over at the rest aria and Jens here will get him for you. another man in our age came over and was told to tell Mr Meacy his guest had arrived. the man quickly followed procedure and left after a small respectful bow towards the receptionist. I took a seat in a comfortable small two seat sofa while waiting for the man who hold the testaments of my mother and lord willsbought. it was odd the man had said that lord willsbough was here, but he had past sens his testament was going to be read. maybe it was an uncle or a brother. well that was to be expected, they couldn't let a young unwed women travel around alone. my mother had told my sister and I that they where really much harder on keeping up appearance and the many unwritten rules of society in England than in America.
at the thought of his family Felix snuck his hand to his neck pulling out the necklace he had hung there. on a silver chain hang the ring his mother had hold onto for dear life as a last thing she ever done on this earth. it had been difficult to restore it but they had done a good Job at it. the soft heart shaped diamond hold by the silver feathers had survived. apparently the male opposite was in gold and would fit together, Felix had a hard time believing this sens the ring looked so completed as it was. the father in-law had certainly been a silly man, but Felix liked that. his father had been the same way, he had made his mother as happy he could in their situation. they really did love etch other but probably more like affectionate Friends then true lovers.
finally the man came back and in his company came a middle age man whit a beginning of greying hair in his otherwise brown hair, he was probably in his late thirties and he had a pair of glasses on as he peered at me confused, he looked around as if expecting there to be more people there then just me. he turned to the young man at his side and asked something confused, the man just pointed out into my direction and the man looked back at me again puzzled. he then started walking over as if he wasn't sure he had the right man. i rose up and waited for the man reaching out my hand as he came close, the man did the same.
-ehm..Mr carlton? Mr F Carlton? the man asked me as he shocked my hand.
-yeah, that's me, you must be Mr Meacy. he looked perplexed at me.
